Angelina Jolie Wanted An Open Marriage And A Political Career, Is That What Drove Brad Pitt Away

Angelina Jolie’s desire to expand her political career may have been at the center of her divorce from Brad Pitt.

Daily Mail is reporting that Jolie aspired to become a high-ranking official in the UN, and her political obsessions eventually drove a wedge between her and Pitt.

The Tomb Raider star allegedly hired two political advisors to help further her career in politics. These individuals helped Jolie with her political game, including advising her on anything affecting her public image.

Apart from arguing about her advisors, Pitt took issue with the actresses’ willingness to travel abroad with her kids, especially whenever Jolie visited war-torn countries.

“Brad was always supportive of Jolie’s solo charity work, but travels with the kids became a bone of contention for several years.”

Their problems escalated after Jolie wanted to take the children to Syria to help the country’s refugees.

Despite Jolie taking a security detail on the trip, Pitt refused to allow the kids to visit the country out of fear for their safety.

Jolie is well-known for her humanitarian work and is part of the Special Envoy to the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). She also established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation to help create Asia’s Millennium Village.

In addition to Jolie’s political career, the Daily Mail is also reporting that the actress wanted an open marriage.

Apparently, Angelina Jolie wanted to move to Britain and continue her political career while Pitt remained in L.A. and worked on his movie career.

Jolie wanted the outside world to believe their marriage was intact, while behind the scenes they were free to pursue other relationships.

Once Pitt refused the offer, Jolie went on a rampage that ended with her filing for divorce last week.

According to Australian News, the actress then started to smear Pitt’s public image by asking for physical custody of the kids and starting rumors of Pitt’s child abuse.

“The whole thing seems very impetuous,” Andrew Morton, a biographer of Jolie shared.

“Her mother would freeze out people for whatever reason, and now Angie has frozen out Brad – who was far more dignified and just issued a quiet statement.”

Unfortunately, it looks like their kids are going to be the ultimate losers once the dust settles.

While details of their divorce continue to surface, Jolie allegedly sought out Johnny Depp’s help before she filed for divorce.

Jolie worked with Depp on the film, The Tourist, and sources claim that she discussed her marital problems with the actor long before made things official.

“Angelina idolized Johnny for years before she worked with him on The Tourist,” an insider revealed. “And then the pair of them really hit it off on set.”

For now, it doesn’t look like Jolie’s friendship with Depp caused friction between her and Pitt.

Instead, Jolie sought out Depp for relationship advice after she learned about his split from Amber Heard.

“The two of them have stayed in touch ever since then, and spoke regularly during the storm that surrounded Johnny’s break up with Amber,” the source added. “They have been speaking about the situation, and Angelina hired Johnny’s lawyer to represent her based on the advice that he has given her.”

Meanwhile, Pitt has had a difficult time dealing with the split, especially after Jolie cut off his access to their six children.

In order to open the doors of communication, Pitt allegedly reached out to Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, for help.

“Brad has made an effort to make contact and is keen to try and improve the situation between them,” an insider stated. “He’s hoping his good relationship with Angelina’s family will help build bridges. He’s spoken to her dad Jon and hopes he may be able to play peacemaker. It’s a very tricky time for the family but Brad hasn’t given up hope yet.”
