Ariana Grande Slams ‘Bad Interviewer’ Who Asked Fifth Harmony If They Have Boyfriends [Video]

Ariana Grande is stepping in to defend Fifth Harmony from who she described as being a “bad interviewer.”

Grande hit back against a male interviewer during a recently resurfaced interview with KIIS FM backstage at 102.7 KIIS FM’s 2016 Wango Tango concert back in May, where Ariana publicly shamed a journalist for asking Fifth Harmony if they had boyfriends.

Ariana, who’s long spoken out about being a feminist, brought up the question during a pretty awkward moment in the backstage interview, seriously calling out the male interviewer who asked the girl band the personal dating question.

“You were asking Fifth Harmony at the time if they had boyfriends,” Ariana said during the interview, slamming the journalist and asking, “Can’t you just let them sing?”

Ariana then continued to blast the interviewer during the seriously candid moment, telling him, “You’ve always got to tie a woman to a man,” before then turning to his co-worker to add, “he’s not a bad person just a bad interviewer.”

Grande then quickly admitted that she was “just kidding” with her remarks over the Fifth Harmony question, before then dryly adding, “I’m not kidding.”

Ariana’s very public shaming of the interviewer over the boyfriend question aimed at Fifth Harmony drew praise from Grande’s legions of fans, who applauded the “Side To Side” singer for calling out the journalist for enquiring about Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei, and Ally Brooke’s dating lives.

“Thank you Ariana,” Fifth Harmony fan @Smile_For_5h tweeted in reply to Ariana’s feminist call out. “At least someone has a nerve to tell them to let the girls alone & stop asking about their private life.”

“Yas, preach @ArianaGrande!” Twitter user @HallyWater then wrote on the social media site, while Grande fan @moonlight_cutie tweeted in reply that Grande was the “queen of calling out interviewers” over her feminist slam.

Ariana Grande has long been vocal about her dedication to feminism, speaking publicly about her desire for women to be treated equally to men on a number of occasions.

Speaking to Billboard in a cover feature last May, Grande revealed why she called out a British radio station for praising Justin Bieber and former One Direction member Zayn Malik for participating in shirtless photoshoots but then went on to shame female celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus for appearing nearly nude in various magazines.

“If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot,” Ariana said, “she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration.”

Grande’s comments inside the pages of the magazine came shortly after Ariana took to social media to post a lengthy feminist essay following her 2015 split from rapper Big Sean in which she hit back after being referred to as Big Sean’s ex.

“I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present, or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION,” Grande wrote on the social media site after being referred to as the ex-girlfriend of Sean, who she split with just weeks earlier. “I… do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you,” added Ariana.

“I have clearly not been having the boy questions in my interviews lately because I have come to the realization that I have SO. MUCH. MORE. to talk about,” Grande then continued, hitting back at females being quizzed about their boyfriends for the first time, just months before Ariana then publicly called out the interviewer at Wango Tango.
