Yolanda Hadid Proud Of The Way Gigi Hadid Defended Herself In Milan

Yolanda Hadid wasn’t present in Milan when her daughter, Gigi Hadid, had to deal with an attacker last week in Milan. After Gigi was done with her work, she stopped by some fans to say hi when a man decided it would be a good idea for him to try and pick her up. Luckily for Hadid, she had some self-defense moves, and she elbowed him in the face.

He ran away from security officers, who were supposed to defend her. It’s questionable how he even managed to get so close to her, especially with such a large group of security officers nearby. And while some tabloids decided to mock Hadid for the way she handled the situation, it sounds like her very own parents could not be more proud.

According to a new Bravo report, Yolanda Hadid broke her silence after learning that her daughter had elbowed a man in the face. And she was proud to call her daughter a strong woman who could clearly handle herself.

“Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them,” Yolanda Hadid shared on Instagram, adding later, “Bravo Gigi for defending yourself and standing up for what is rightfully yours, your mind, body and soul should not be touched by anyone unless you want to.”

One can imagine that Yolanda made sure that her daughter had enough self-defense training to defend herself in these kinds of situations. When her daughter started modeling a lot and traveling the world, Yolanda was so sick with Lyme disease that she couldn’t travel with her. Yolanda was forced to stay behind in Malibu and watch her daughter take over the world. So, to make sure that her daughter is safe, it is possible that Yolanda scheduled self-defense classes for her daughter.

“Wow, Gigi’s training really paid off! I can’t imagine how proud you must be of her for being able to take care of herself like nobody’s business! Go Gigi!” one person wrote in response to Yolanda, while another added, “And may we raise our sons to respect them! I do t have daughters but my hope is that I raise strong enough men to not be threatened by strong women. You did your job well, Mrs Hadid.”

No word on whether the man has been caught. He may just have meant it as a joke, but Gigi clearly didn’t see him coming and he could have been trying to hurt her. In addition to Yolanda Hadid’s Instagram post, Gigi’s own father also shared his thoughts on Instagram.

“Who needs security Guards when You need them? I Guess.. Not Gigi. Gigi Hadid..Woman Power. Self defense.. He ran way while 30 men were looking on… #takecontrole,” Mohamed revealed, sharing that his daughter is super strong and may not need any security, especially a security team that is so slow to act.

It does seem ridiculous that the world famous model should be criticized by the media for defending herself. The day after it happened, the model went on social media to explain herself after a website wrote that her outburst was not model behavior.

“THANK YOU Rachel. To unknown article writer: fan?!!! The ACTUAL fans that were there can tell you what happened. I’m a HUMAN BEING — and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho,” Gigi revealed on Twitter the day after the attack, as she started to learn about the negative headlines about her, according to a previous Inquisitr article.

What do you think of the way Yolanda Hadid and her ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, has supported their daughter through this event?
