One Direction’s Niall Horan To Compete In Ryder Cup Celebrity Match: Still Doing Bucket List Not Working On His New Solo Album?

One Direction’s Niall Horan is still playing around on golf courses and talking about his bucket list. He’s got a record contract for a solo album waiting in the wings, but he’s not just charging in there to hurry up to create an album. It seems that Horan has shown very little interest in music since the hiatus, so what now?

One Direction’s Niall Horan is going to be one of the celebrity match participants in the 2016 Ryder Cup. He’s very excited about it obviously. Especially since he will also get to meet Bill Murray and Michael Phelps since they are also named as celebrity participants, according to the Ryder Cup website.

For Niall Horan, this is a sort of lifelong golfing dream, so he is really pumped for the whole experience, according to Unreality TV News. It does sound like a really big honor to be asked.

“I’m going to be involved with the Ryder Cup team [in Minnesota] to try to do a bit for them and help them concentrate on their golf. I would have been going there anyway because the Ryder Cup is one of the ones you have to tick off the bucket list.”

Niall Horan is an avid golfer and apparently very good at it. He’s gaining a lot of recognition in a field other than music. He is a huge fan of other famous golfers as well. Niall even works to promote golfing events online.

“I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be doing a lot of tweeting and shouting and roaring anyway, so I’m a bit of a mascot I suppose.”

One Direction’s Niall Horan a mascot? He’s being humble. That’s cute but Niall is a serious golfer, or he would not be invited to play at this huge Ryder Cup event right? Well, it looks like celebrities are chosen on their merit as golfers as well as their fame, but there will be some big names involved.

Kurt Russell, Huey Lewis, and Rob Riggle will also be in the celebrity match, scheduled for September 27 at 2 p.m. There are also a lot of athletes known for their participation in other sports, but who are also avid golfers. Niall is in with a pretty elite group here actually. The Ryder Cup website explains a bit about the match.

“The PGA of America is excited to host the Celebrity Match for the 2016 Ryder Cup. The 9-hole scramble will feature celebrities from the United States and Europe and kick-off the week’s festivities prior to the start of Ryder Cup matches. This year’s celebrity teams bring a fun mix of talent and big personalities.”

Niall Horan must have really missed playing golf as much as he wanted while on tour with One Direction. There is no way Niall could have worked the game into his schedule often. Now that he has a bit of time to spend on sports and travel, who could blame him for enjoying the fruits of his hard labor with One Direction.

Niall Horan has a different creative style than most, but it fits his personality. Niall is more athletic and he probably thinks best when his body is active. He’s thinking on his feet. He is digesting ideas from his experiences that will hopefully make great songs. Many people do create by doing something completely different and jotting down ideas that come to them while they are busy with other things.

Niall Horan’s solo album will come together first in his mind, perhaps he’ll get a few ideas golfing at the Ryder Cup event, and then he can create it in the studio when he is ready.
