Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shocked the world when it was announced that the actress had filed for divorce this week. The couple, who have been together since 2004, seemed like the perfect Hollywood pair. Unfortunately, dark details about their marriage are beginning to surface, and fans are shocked by rumors and reports.

According to Hollywood Life, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce may not be a shock to those who knew them best. The couple had reportedly been on the rocks for quite some time and even considered adopting a seventh child to help save their shaky marriage.

The couple, known as “Brangelina,” reportedly made plans over the summer to adopt another child together. The pair, who already have three adopted children and three biological children, we’re allegedly looking into adopting an older child around the age of 10. Sources reveal that Brad and Angelina reportedly thought that “adopting another child [would] strengthen their relationship” and had planned to adopt a child from “South Africa, Burundi, or Ethiopia.”

Jolie has always been an advocate of adoption, among many other causes, and the family she created with Pitt was always seen as something to be envied among other couples. Sadly, the family may not have been as perfect as it appeared to be on the outside. Now that the spouses have split, and rumors are flying about Brad’s possible dangerous behavior, it seems like a good thing that the two didn’t bring another child into the family, where the drama could have had a serious impact on the child’s ability to adjust to the new dynamic.

Fans are now learning that the six children the Jolie-Pitts already share may be the reason behind their divorce. TMZ reports that Angelina Jolie decided to file for divorce from Brad Pitt because she was “fed up” with his parenting methods. The actress was allegedly upset over the way Brad dealt with their six children and the fact that he’s allegedly been smoking marijuana, drinking, and has anger issues.

Perez Hilton reports that Angelina’s lawyer and manager have both made statements about the divorce, claiming it was in the best interest of her family to split from Brad.

“‘This decision was made for the health of the family. [Angelina Jolie] will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time,’ attorney Robert offer said.

“‘Angelina will always do what’s in the best interest to protect her children. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time,’ manager Geyer Kosinski stated.”

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie’s own father, Jon Voight, who has had a very rocky relationship with his superstar daughter, is also said to be worried about the family during the divorce. Voight spoke to Radar Online about his daughter’s divorce from Brad Pitt and said it must be “something serious” to have led to her to end her marriage.

“I don’t know much about it except it must be something serious. I just got the news and I’m concerned. The priority is always the children. I know she’s always concerned about the children.”
