Taylor Swift Split: Tom Hiddleston Speaks Out Post-Breakup

The Taylor Swift split from Tom Hiddleston has been a devastating blow to Hollywood, without a doubt. All eyes were on Tom Hiddleston as he attended the 2016 Emmy Awards on his own.

Since the initial Hiddleswift breakup, rumors have been swirling about the couple ending on nasty terms. Truth be told, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston aren’t as bad off as everyone has assumed. In a recent interview with People, the Night Manager actor disclosed some information about his recent split from Taylor Swift. When Tom Hiddleston was asked on the Emmy Awards red carpet whether he has remained friends with the singer, he replied, “Yes. Yes, we are,” while sporting a huge grin on his face.

Despite the Taylor Swift split, Tom Hiddleston happily attended the 2016 Emmy Awards as a nominee in multiple categories. Not only did he get an Emmy nod for Night Manager as an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, but Hiddleston also presented for the Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series category. He shared the stage with Priyanka Chopra.

Tom Hiddleston appeared to be in a great mood despite the recent end to his three-month whirlwind of a romance with the pop star. Other Emmy Award attendees told People that the Night Manager actor “seemed to be in great spirits.”

The Taylor Swift split took the media by storm earlier this month when the couple broke up. Hiddleswift had initially met earlier this year at the 2016 Met Gala after-party, reported People. Although Swift was still dating ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris at the time, the two partook in a dance-off. Shortly after the 2016 Met Gala, Tom Hiddleston spoke to MTV News about spending time with the pop star.

“I sat next to her at dinner that night, and she’s very charming, she’s amazing… I’ve seen a couple of her videos.”

A Taylor Swift split still seems quite unbelievable. It was only in June that photos of Hiddleswift having a romantic getaway in Rhode Island began surfacing on the internet. Shortly after the couple announced their relationship, the two spent a lot of time together traveling. Tom Hiddleston not only met Taylor Swift’s parents in Nashville, but the pop star also met Hiddleston’s mother in England. The couple also went galavanting throughout Rome, where they were captured on cameras swapping hugs and kisses.

The Taylor Swift split hasn’t necessarily upset Tom Hiddleston too much. The Night Manager actor was allegedly spending a lot of time with Priyanka Chopra at the Emmy Awards afterparty, reported E! News. Multiple sources said that Hiddleston and Chopra were “openly flirting with each other.”

“Tom had his arm around her and held her close. Afterwards, Tom and Priyanka talked closely and were holding hands at one point for a few moments…Priyanka fixed Tom’s bow-tie and then the two kissed on both cheeks.”

Allegedly, Tom Hiddleston and Priyanka Chopra have been with each other a lot. A source told E! News that two were spotted hanging out together earlier over the Emmy Awards weekend while rehearsing for the ceremony.

The Taylor Swift split only seems like a faint memory to Tom Hiddleston. During the Emmy Awards after-party, Hiddleston and Chopra were spotted on multiple occasions giving each other long hugs and multiple kisses on the cheek. The two even swapped phones to give each other their numbers, explained the inside source for E! News. Finally, the two said goodbye after spending loads of time together.

“Priyanka and Tom said goodbye and she told him that she will see him later…They left the event about a minute after each other.”
