Nicki Minaj could soon have a sex tape hitting the internet, and it may be throwing more gasoline on the fire regarding the feud between her boyfriend and fellow rapper The Game.
News of Minaj's alleged sex tape has been spreading on social media and was reported on a number of gossip sites, including LOVEBSCOTT.com, but the exact details remain spotty. For one, there is no confirmation that the video actually shows Nicki Minaj and the footage itself appears elusive.
LOVEBSCOTT.com links to a Facebook video allegedly showing some or all of Nicki Minaj's sex tape, but the link appears to be closed. Another small site called Exclusiveworldpremiere.tv claims to have footage of the video, but the link leads to a blank page with the word "Blocked."
The Nicki Minaj sex tape is reportedly an outcropping of the growing feud between The Game and Meek Mill, Nicki's boyfriend. It's not entirely clear where the bad blood started between the two rappers, but TMZ reported that it may have to do with a robbery back in June involving Sean Kingston.
"TMZ broke the story... Kingston got smashed in the head with a bottle and then the attackers snatched a $300k chain off his neck. Both Game and Meek were in the club that evening. However the feud got started, it took a more serious turn this weekend when The Game posted an Instagram picture showing himself shirtless cuddled up to Nicki Minaj. "The last time Nicki held a REAL N**GA!!!" The Game wrote as he launched into a series of taunts against Meek Mill. To add to the intrigue of her possible sex tape, Nicki Minaj had previously expressed a healthy dose of hesitation at the idea of appearing nude in a movie. In a Twitter Q&A earlier this year, someone asked Nicki if there would be any sex scenes in her upcoming movie, Barbershop: The Next Cut.
"We're told Game believes Meek dropped a dime on him to Kingston's people, and told them Game or someone in his crew was involved in the heist.
"Onstage in Miami, Game strongly hinted investigators questioned him about the crime."
"I'm not allowed to do those," she wrote.
As Vibe noted at the time, the answer seemed to be a nod of respect to her boyfriend.
"Using the word 'allowed' comes across as odd to some who view Ms. Minaj as a woman who doesn't need permission to do anything, but, out of respect for 'the boy who likes her' as she was quoted saying on Ellen, we totally get it."Nicki Minaj is not the first Young Money Entertainment rapper to get caught up in a sex tape scandal. Last year, the label's founder ended up embroiled in a controversy of his own ---- Lil Wayne was reportedly featured in an X-rated video showing him with two women identified as strippers.
The rapper went on the offensive as a site called Hollywood Street King released what it claimed were several snippets of the video. Lil Wayne had his lawyer send a letter threatening legal action if the site didn't take it down.
"We hereby demand that you immediately cease the use, exploitation and/or distribution of the video and that you deliver all copies, including electronic copies, of same to us or destroy such copies immediately and that you desist from this or any other infringement of Mr. Carter's rights in the future," reads the letter, which was obtained by TMZ.
So far, Nicki Minaj has not responded publicly to the allegations that she is featured in a sex tape.
