South Carolina Clown Sightings Expand To North Carolina, Man Reportedly Chases Clown Into Woods With Machete [Video]
When the now-infamous South Carolina clown sightings were first reported by terrified children near the end of August, their parents thought that they were dealing with overactive imaginations. Soon, though, the clown sightings began to spread. Sightings that began at the tiny South Carolina apartment complex, Fleetwood Manor, expanded to other apartment complexes and communities.
Fam I don't know about y'all but if I see a clown in the woods and he says "I got cotton candy", can't pass that up. pic.twitter.com/wAnw0ZsIW5

Fleetwood Manor’s property management team sent out notifications to residents as concern grew, warning them that clowns had been spotted in the surrounding woods and were reportedly trying to lure children away with offers of candy and/or money.

As the South Carolina clown sightings began to become more commonplace, those who witnessed the disturbing phenomenon were no longer just a bunch of kids. Their parents started seeing clowns, too. Sightings of creepy clowns began to be reported by adults all over the state. One woman reported to police that she’d found a clown standing in her backyard. Some witnesses reported clowns shooting guns. Police departments all over South Carolina began investigating clown sightings (officially referred to as reports of “suspicious behavior”), but no evidence of physical clowns has turned up.
A few witnesses claimed to have snapped blurry photos of the South Carolina clowns, but so far no high-quality footage to substantiate the reports of South Carolina clown sightings has turned up.

There have been rumors that the South Carolina clown sightings may have been a publicity stunt, but that hasn’t been substantiated. In fact, the film company that was linked to the South Carolina clown sightings has denied that they had anything to do with the horrifying situation.

Parents are terrified that these unidentified clowns are going to hurt or abduct their children, but so far nobody has been injured. Still, adults in impacted area have remained on high alert.
Now, however, the South Carolina clown sightings are crossing state lines, and they’re getting increasingly violent. Police departments are fed up and have promised to aggressively prosecute anyone who is found to be involved in the clown appearances, particularly following reports of children being targeted — and particularly because it appears that the clowns (and their witnesses) are getting more aggressive. It appears that it’s only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
Copyclowns! ?

I lived in that town and trust me I'm shocked a clown hasn't been shot yet.

On August 30, it was reported that an Ohio teen was chased by a knife-wielding clown near a school bus stop. Reportedly, that clown was wearing a mask and black clothes, and he chased his 14-year-old victim until the young man began throwing rocks at him. Because of the rash of South Carolina clown sightings, Ohio law enforcement took the incident very seriously.
“The victim was able to get away from him by throwing a rock at him. We don’t know whether this was a prank or not, but we are taking it seriously.”
Like the clown sightings in South Carolina, the man behind the Ohio clown mask remains unidentified.

Now, after weeks of dealing with unsolved South Carolina clown sightings, North Carolina police are dealing with an influx of creepy clowns. As New York Daily News reports, the North Carolina clown sightings are eerily similar to what has been going on in South Carolina, even involving the woods and apartment complexes.
On Tuesday, multiple witnesses saw a creepy clown exit the woods near a Greensboro apartment complex. The incident happened at about 10:00 a.m. One of the witnesses reportedly chased after the clown with a massive machete, but like every other clown that has been sighted this summer, this one vanished without a trace before it could be caught.
Police were called to the scene, but found neither clown nor evidence of a clown.

On Monday, a creepy clown sighting was reported in Winston-Salem; in that incident, the clown involved was reportedly trying to convince children to follow it into the surrounding woods with promises of candy.
Just like the South Carolina clown sightings.
What do you think? Is there some kind of supernatural event going on? Are we dealing with truly threatening clowns? Are the North Carolina clown sightings a continuation of what has been happening in South Carolina, or are they copycats?
