Stabbing Victim At TSU’s Homecoming Game Identified

Last night, after Tennessee State University’s homecoming game, a man was fatally stabbed in the parking lot of LP Field.

According to The Tennessean, the victim from last night has been identified as Jesse T. Alexander, 26, of Carolyn Avenue.

Metro Police say witnesses are stating that a domestic related argument between two brothers led to a physical confrontation in a parking lot of LP Field Saturday night.

Witnesses are saying that the physical fight led to one brother fatally stabbing the other in the chest.

According to Metro Police, the stabbing occurred around 8:15 p.m. as the brothers were tailgating with family members and friends, following Tennessee State University’s homecoming game.

Joshua Alexander, 38, Jesse’s older brother who was involved in the incident, drove away from the scene, police said.

After he was stabbed, Jesse was immediately transported to Baptist Hospital where he unfortunately died.

Police say that Joshua Alexander is not being held in custody and no charges have been filed at this time.

Detectives are continuing to look into the incident by identifying and interviewing more witnesses to find out exactly what happened between the two brothers.

It certainly is a tragedy when such an incident occurs, my heart goes out to all of Jesse Alexanders friends and family.
