Green Bay Packers: 5 Last Second Predictions For The 2016 NFL Season

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are heading into the 2016 NFL season with high hopes of retaking the NFC North division title. They were unable to hold off the Minnesota Vikings last season in Week 17 action but ended up making it farther in the playoffs than the Vikings did.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, there are quite a few reasons to be excited if you’re a Packers’ fan. It has been a few years since they won their last title, but there is a strong chance that they will win another one shortly.

Minnesota has been considered the main contender in the NFC North against the Packers, but Teddy Bridgewater went down with a torn ACL. That injury has quieted the hype surrounding the Vikings in a big way. That being said, they still have a lot of talent and can find a solid replacement quarterback.

Jordy Nelson is back from the torn ACL that he suffered in preseason action last season. His return could be exactly what the Packers’ offense needs to get back to being lethal. Eddie Lacy has also looked good in preseason as well, which is a major key for the Packers.

All of that being said, what five last-second predictions can be made for the Green Bay Packers’ 2016 NFL season?

Aaron Rodgers Will Win Another MVP Award

Even though the Packers’ offense may have struggled last season, Aaron Rodgers is still the NFL’s best quarterback. There is no competition from any other quarterback in the league. Rodgers is out to prove himself this season after last year’s issues and will come through with yet another MVP award.

Eddie Lacy Will Bounce Back as a 1,000-Yard Running Back

As mentioned above, Eddie Lacy has looked very good so far in limited preseason playing time. He seems to have cut down a good portion of the weight that held him back last year. Lacy will bounce back as a legitimate 1,000-yard running back this year and will be an integral part of the Packers’ offensive attack.

Jordy Nelson Will Not Show Signs of a Serious Injury

One of the biggest question marks for the Packers heading into the 2016 season is whether Jordy Nelson can return to superstar form. He tore his ACL during preseason play last year and hasn’t played in the preseason this season. Nelson will not show any signs of a serious injury and will get back to being Rodgers” favorite target and one of the best wide receivers in the league.

Green Bay Will Easily Win the NFC North Division Title

Mike McCarthy was preparing for another bitter war with the Minnesota Vikings for the division title. Unfortunately, Teddy Bridgewater ended up suffering a gruesome knee injury and will miss the entire season. Green Bay’s path to the division has cleared up considerably, and they will win the NFC North division title easily.

The Green Bay Packers Will Win Super Bowl 51

Having the best quarterback in the NFL always gives a team the chance to compete for a championship. Green Bay has improved their entire team around Rodgers as well. Assuming they can stay healthy, the Packers have the talent to win Super Bowl 51.

Expect to see the Packers put on a much more entertaining show this season than they did last year. They have more playmakers than they had in 2015, and their young players will have another year of development. Don’t be surprised if the Packers make a deep run in the playoffs.
