Donald Trump Jr. Twitter Gaffe: Clearly Fake Hillary Clinton Email Shared By Donald Trump’s Eldest Son On Twitter

Republican nominee Donald Trump has faced a number of Twitter gaffes over the course of his presidential campaign. However, it’s his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. at the center of the latest of those gaffes. Trump Jr, the Republican candidate’s eldest son managed to share a clearly fake Hillary Clinton email leak with his 629,000 Twitter followers. Whilst Donald Trump’s own tweets are vetted by his campaign team before they’re shared, it’s pretty clear that the same doesn’t go for tweets from his family members.

According to Mediaite, the tweet in question claimed to prove that Donald Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton was paying off pollsters in order to gain an advantage in the polls. However, there’s one key problem with the email — it’s quite clearly 100 percent fake, and it’s difficult to see how Donald Trump Jr. didn’t realize that.

The fake document, which doesn’t even take anything near the format of Hillary Clinton’s correspondence, claims to be from Hillary to Public Policy Polling, reading “Your latest poll is unacceptable. We aren’t paying you $760,000 per month to show a FIVE-POINT LEAD. Are you trying to make Trump win? We will be ending our contract with your company unless results improve quickly.” It’s pretty clear to just about anyone that this isn’t a real email, which is something Donald Trump Jr. didn’t pick up on.

Predictably, many users took to Twitter to point out Donald Trump Jr.’s gullibility in sharing the clearly fake email. In fact, Public Policy Polling themselves retweeted a journalist who was lambasting Donald Trump Jr. for his stupidity. Quite surprisingly, however, Donald Trump Jr. is still yet to delete the tweet, which has been proven as a clear fake. At the same time, the user who shared the email maintains that it’s a real email, despite the contrary being really quite clear.

Donald Trump Jr. hasn’t played an all that active role in his father’s presidential campaign, which is likely because of his responsibilities with The Trump Organization. That being said, Trump Jr. has made campaign appearances for the Republican nominee, including most prominently, speaking on stage at the Republican National Convention.

Furthermore, Donald Trump Jr. has taken it upon himself to clarify his father’s stance on issues. According to USA Today, Donald Trump Jr. most recently rebutted claims that his father is softening on immigration, following the candidate’s speech last Wednesday. Trump Jr. further clarified that stance, saying:

“He wasn’t softening on anything. He didn’t change his stance on anything. What he did was, and what he’s done all along is, he’s speaking with the people. He’s not lecturing them like most of the politicians you see today. He’s actually having a conversation.”

Over the past couple of weeks, Republican candidate Donald Trump has been looking to extend his outreach to minorities. Trump has been lambasted for excluding certain communities during his presidential campaign, something he is looking to fix using discussions with Hispanic leaders. At the same time, Trump has said there is room for his views on immigration to change, suggesting his action on immigration in office could be very different to what he’s been saying out on the campaign trail.
