Derek Hough is returning to Dancing With The Stars after fans thought that he wouldn’t be back this season. It is almost time for his partner to be announced, but now Derek is speaking out about what made him decide to come back to the show again. Us Magazine shared what Derek had to say on Facebook about his big return. Derek Hough has a really busy schedule, and this was one reason that it didn’t look like he would be back this season. Somehow he was able to work it out.
Derek was on Season 21 and won the show with Bindi Irwin, then, during Season 22, Derek didn’t participate at all. It had looked like he wouldn’t be back again, but news recently came out that he would be dancing in Season 23 of Dancing With The Stars. Derek has been really busy getting ready for Singin’ in the Rain on Broadway, and playing Corny Collins in NBC’s Hairspray Live! in December of 2016.
Today, Derek Hough went to his Facebook page to share exactly how this all worked out, and he was able to do the show. There had been some speculation if Singin’ in the Rain decided to put things off for Derek or how this all went down. Hough explained the details.
“I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. This fall, I was planning on being immersed in rehearsals for Singin’ in the Rain on Broadway, but due to successes of the shows currently running, that project has been delayed because there simply isn’t a theater available. Singin’ in the Rain is still very much part of my future plans. With my fall schedule freeing up, I’m excited to say that I’ll be back on Dancing with the Stars for season 23,
“It’s always great to be back with my DWTS family, coaching, creating and making lasting memories. I’m grateful to everyone at Hairspray Live! for enabling me to do double duty on two major productions at the same time this fall. It’s going to be a challenge that I’m looking forward to.”
The fans could not be more excited that Derek Hough will be back and are really curious to find out who his partner will be this season. The full cast of the show will be announced on Good Morning America tomorrow, and they should be coming out with their partner to show off who will be dancing with who. There have been a ton of rumors flying about who could end up on the show, but it will finally all be official tomorrow.
