‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Releases ‘Children Of The Corn’ Trailer [Video]
American Horror Story has released a new trailer for Season 6, and the franchise is back to its old tricks of paralleling classic horror themes. This time, American Horror Story has released a teaser trailer that is eerily reminiscent of a classic ’80s horror film that fans of the genre are just going to love.
For those who have been wondering when American Horror Story was going to start using the most classic of American horror, then your wait is finally over. If there is anyone out there who has not heard of Stephen King, then you simply have not lived in the world, turned on a TV set, or opened a computer.
Stephen King is perhaps that most prolific horror writer of the last 40 years, penning classic American horror novels like Carrie, The Dead Zone, The Shining, It, The Stand, Salems Lot, Dolores Claiborne, and many stories from his horror anthologies.
But Stephen King wrote one story in particular, Children of the Corn, that was initially released as a short story in his horror anthology novel, Night Shift. The classic American horror story was among many that made it the big screen and was adapted into a film, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Now, American Horror Story has released a teaser trailer that also seems to echo the basic tenets of the Stephen King story, and it was really neat to see it. For those who are unaware, Children of the Corn was an American horror story and film that was about children who came together behind the leadership of a powerful young teen boy who wielded the powers of an ancient religion.
In Children of the Corn, the kids assembled in a sleepy Midwestern farm town and murdered all of the adults. They seem to be followers of a cult that echoes modern fundamentalist Christian cults that practice extreme forms of the religion. In the end, a much more powerful and malevolent presence reveals itself in the classic American horror story, and the film has a dramatic conclusion.
That seems to be something that perfectly aligns with the mission of American Horror Story as a horror franchise on FX. The new teaser certainly echoes all the basic tenets of the Stephen King story. Children of the Corn is essentially the first of his stories that has really made it into the theme for the cable network series.
For those who have been waiting all summer long for news from American Horror Story about what the theme for Season 6 is going to be, you will have to wait until the show actually premieres on FX on September 14. Producers for the show, including creator Ryan Murphy, have already said that the theme for Season 6 of American Horror Story will not be revealed until it premieres, which is not what they have done in previous seasons of the show.
There has also been news that Season 6 of American Horror Story will be starting to lay the seeds for future seasons and how they all tie into one another, which will include Seasons 1 through 5. There have already been small bits and pieces of crossovers from other seasons, but they have been small and there has been nothing of any substantial nature that ties them all together.

Ryan Murphy has also said that Seasons 7 and 8 of American Horror Story will also be the big ones that tie all the previous seasons together, and fans will see much more of the connections when they air on FX.
