‘The Originals’ Season 4 Spoilers: Phoebe Tonkin On Hayley Protecting Hope, Finding The Cure, And More

The Originals Season 4 spoilers keep coming, even though The CW will not air new episodes until next year. Recently, an interview with Phoebe Tonkin gave some insight into Hayley Marshall’s role, protecting Hope Mikaelson, finding the cure, and more.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be searching for a cure in order to save the Mikaelson family. When The CW series returns, five years will have passed. That means Hope Mikaelson is no longer a baby, but a young girl. Interviews with Joseph Morgan gave fans an idea of what to expect from Klaus Mikaelson and Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis). However, what about Hayley? What will she be up to in The Originals Season 4?

Spoilers from Showbiz Junkies tease that Hayley Marshall will be in full protection mode when it comes to her daughter, Hope Mikaelson. This should not come as a surprise. Hope is the most important person to Hayley and Klaus. Phoebe Tonkin’s character has always wanted what was best for Hope in The Originals. Season 4 spoilers also reveal that Hayley will be busy looking for the cure, just like she was at the end of the Season 3 finale.

Does she spend the entire five years searching for a cure in The Originals Season 4? Tonkin didn’t have a clear answer to that question. However, knowing Hayley’s personality and determination, she thinks the character hasn’t given up or even taken a break. Helping save the Mikaelson family is a top priority for her. Besides, she has made a promise to Hope that they will go get her father, Klaus Mikaelson.

As far as raising Hope, Tonkin revealed at Comic-Con 2016 that she will be in full protection mode.

“I think it’s probably straight protection mode. You know, she’s never had family and now she does. I think her daughter is the only thing that she loves, the only thing she cares about, and I think she’d do anything to protect Hope.”

So, what is going to happen when Klaus wakes up from his coma and is reunited with Hayley, Hope, and Marcel on The Originals Season 4? TV Insider asked Joseph Morgan this question. Regarding Marcel, the actor doesn’t believe he will try to kill the man who put him in a coma. He will definitely be angry, but Klaus won’t be seeking the death penalty. The only way Klaus will ever kill Marcel is if it was necessary for his survival. The actor added that Marcel is one of the foundations in The Originals. Season 4 spoilers also tease that Klaus and Marcel won’t be friends, either. Maybe one day they can repair their relationship, but don’t expect it to happen quickly.

As for Hope Mikaelson, TV Insider asked about the possibility of her being Klaus’ redemption. However, Morgan hinted that it might be the opposite.

“His savior—or his downfall? How old would she have to be to kill her father? She could have a lot of resentment. I have always felt Hope would be the key to everything.”

This certainly was not the answer viewers were expecting. This is especially true since it was rumored for months that Hope would be the key to saving Klaus and redeeming him in The Originals Season 4. Is that still possible or will she destroy her father once he awakens from his agony-induced coma?

There are a lot of questions going into the upcoming season of The Originals. Unfortunately, fans have several months to wait before new episodes will air on The CW network. The Season 4 premiere is not supposed to debut until early 2017.
