‘Teen Mom’ Star Maci Bookout Faking Scenes For Reality Show?
Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout is being called out after fans believe she and her fiance, Taylor McKinney, faked one very important scene for their MTV reality TV show. Viewers are now wondering if the show is staged.
According to Blasting News, Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney were seen during this week’s Teen Mom OG premiere discussing the possibility of Maci being pregnant for the third time. While Maci said in front of cameras that she thought her metabolism was catching up to her and was just gaining weight, Taylor brought up the possibility of her being pregnant again.
In the scene, Maci is seen lying on her bed scrolling through her phone. Bookout tells McKinney that she’s looking for a gym to join to lose the extra weight. It’s then that Taylor suggests that Maci take a pregnancy test. Maci tells her fiance that she took a pregnancy test when she was 16-years-old and didn’t cry then, but if this latest test were to come back positive, she might have to shed a few tears.
The Teen Mom OG star then went into the bathroom and took a pregnancy test, which she just so happened to have under the sink. A few minutes later, it’s declared positive. Why do fans believe that Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney faked this entire dramatic scene for the show? It’s probably because when Bookout announced the pregnancy earlier this year, she told a very different tale.
Back in February, Maci told Us Weekly that she learned about her third pregnancy when she went to the doctor for an examine and to get her birth control prescription refilled.
“I was at the doctor, ironically, to get my birth control prescription refilled!” Bookout revealed, saying that her doctor then told her she couldn’t get the refill because she was pregnant.
“I laughed at her! I mean, she’s the doctor that delivered Jayde, so I was like, ‘Ha ha, that’s a funny joke — but it’s not really that funny!’ And she was like, ‘No, seriously!’ And I was like, ‘Oh, OK — well, give me 10 minutes to not freak out … You’re wrong. You’ve got the wrong results, you mixed them up.’ But no, she was serious!”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Teen Mom has been accused of faking scenes. When Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra found out they were pregnant with their second child, Nova, it was rumored that the pregnancy test scene was also recreated for MTV cameras. Also, when Leah Messer was going through her divorce drama with Corey Simms on on Teen Mom 2, some fans believe that she was wearing a wig in certain scenes that were faked or recreated after she had dramatically changed her hairstyle.
While MTV hasn’t spoken out on the faked or recreated scenes, it does seem that Maci’s interview from earlier in the year has pointed out that not everything fans are seeing on the show is authentic. As for Bookout’s pregnancy, she gave birth to a baby boy named Maverick Reed McKinney in the early summer.
In other big Teen Mom baby news, Jenelle Evans recently announced that she is pregnant with her third child, a little girl, on Wednesday. Jenelle had been dodging pregnancy rumors for months but has finally confirmed that she and boyfriend David Eason are expecting a little one in early 2017. Jenelle’s co-star Chelsea Houska is also expecting a baby with her fiance, Cole DeBoer, as the Teen Mom family continues to grow.
