With more than six months to go before the premiere, the Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers are kicking into overdrive. But this latest round of Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers have made the Internet go abuzz with fury and excitement, especially since the thought of a favorite character making a return is looming large on everyone’s lips. Could it be true, though?
Warning: This post contains spoilers. Please do not read this post if you don’t wish to find out some Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers.
According to Radio Times, the biggest of all the Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers is upon us, as Jason Momoa (who plays Khal Drogo) has been confirmed “hanging out” in Northern Ireland with the rest of the show’s runners. Could it be that the Dothraki leader — and long-time fan favorite — could be making a glorious return to the show in a storyline that, while testing the limits of reality, could also prove plausible?
Not, mind you, that Momoa is hurting for work since his GoT stint — he’s playing Aquaman in the upcoming standalone film of the same name, and we’ll be introduced to his no-longer-wimpy character when the new Justice League movie premieres next summer. But there’s more than enough evidence to believe that this is, indeed, the roaring return of Khal Drogo: aside from the prophecy that hints that he will “rise again” (which should prove interesting, considering he was cremated), Momoa posted several Instagram photos with the hashtag #AlohaDrogo (aloha, of course, means both “hello” and “good-bye” in Hawaiian; a hat-tip to Momoa’s heritage). Momoa also posted a photo on Instagram that tagged his TV Khaleesi, Emilia Clarke, with a caption that read he would see her again soon. However, while the photo remained, the caption was quickly deleted.
Other Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers have been reported by Yahoo News, who sat down with showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The showrunners have confirmed some of the most important Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers that fans have been waiting for. For one, Benioff and Weiss say, we’ll be finding out more about Cersei Lannister’s true self this season. What, really, is the mindset of a woman so bent on revenge that she would rather all of her children die than allow a perceived slight to go unpunished? Second, they also revealed that Iwan Rheon — better known as Ramsay “The Bastard” Snow-Bolton — was neck-and-neck with Kit Harington for consideration for the Jon Snow character (Harington ultimately got the part over Iwan because of his “heart-throb” style good looks — oooh, the shade of it all, Iwan). Finally, the showrunners have confirmed that Jamie Lannister is now very much aware that it is Cersei, not he, who is in charge of their incestuous relationship, and this season will further explore the Jamie character coming to terms with this very fact.
“I doubt we would have cared nearly as much for The Hound if anyone but Rory McCann was playing the part. What’s been exciting is seeing the glimmers of humanity behind The Hound’s scarred exterior.”
