Between filming Season 12 of Supernatural and making the rounds to various Comic-Con events throughout the off season, it wouldn’t seem Jensen Ackles would have much time for anything else, but the news that his wife, Danneel Harris Ackles, is expecting reveals that family is just as important to Jensen as anything else. This isn’t the first pregnancy for Danneel and Jensen, but this pregnancy is something special because the Ackles are expecting twins this time.
Jensen And Danneel Ackles Are To Have Twins
People magazine reports that a representative for Jensen spilled news that the Ackles are expecting twins, a boy and a girl, from this pregnancy. This will give 3-year-old Justice “J.J.” Jay Ackles some heavy duty big sister responsibilities when the new babies come home. Although Danneel has been acting since 2004 and has starred in One Tree Hill and One Life to Live, the actress has taken a break, and her parenting duties have taken precedence, so little J.J. will have plenty of help raising her new siblings, which are due later this year.
After the official announcement was made, Mr. Ackles tweeted a hint, saying that the big news was out. Danneel tweeted back with a somewhat more obvious clue as to the double pregnancy.
“Yep! Doublemint here we come!…,” responded Danneel.
A year ago, Jensen Ackles signed up for an Instagram account, one which he shares with his daughter, upon realizing that there were a number of fan accounts pretending to be the Supernatural star. Once set up, Ackles shared the news on Twitter.
“In an effort 2 squash some posers, my daughter is helping me start an Instagram profile,” Jensen wrote. “Chk it out. Hint: it’s just my name.”
Since that time, Ackles has shared family photos, including the family dogs in the shots, as well as behind the scenes shots from Supernatural sets.
Supernatural Stars Jensen Ackles And Jared Padalecki Sneak Onto Arrow Set
Proving that filming Supernatural isn’t all work and no play, Ackles and his on-screen brother, Jared Padalecki, shared a moment of sneaking off their Vancouver set to spy on another CW series, one which also shoots in Vancouver. Jared was only too happy to share a photo of Ackles and himself, as they pretended to urinate on Arrow star Stephen Amell’s trailer sign, shares International Business Times.
Just hanging with @jensenackles, doing a photo shoot….. We ended up at the Arrow stages! But we didn’t see @stephenamell … Oh well,” Supernatural‘s Jared Padalecki captioned the photo.
Jensen and Jared weren’t satisfied with that one stunt. They had plans for other CW stars as well and, proving themselves to be boys at heart, jokesters Padalecki and Ackles made their way over to The Flash set. This time, the Supernatural boys took their disobedience to the next level, openly defying the rules of The Flash set and sharing their rebellious acts with all of their Supernatural fans.
“Just hanging on the set of #TheFlash with my boy @jaredpadalecki ….doing what we do. Eating and sleeping. Our recipe for 12 seasons,” Jensen Ackles captioned the video.
The video features Padalecki napping under a “No sleeping on set” sign, while Ackles is seen eating and drinking coffee below a “No food on set” sign.
It was a short break, just before Jensen and Jared returned to work, filming the next 23-episode season of Supernatural in which the Winchester brothers will face off against more monsters of the week and, no doubt, find themselves fighting to spare the world from yet another apocalypse. Certainly hard work for two brothers from Lawrence, Kansas, but nothing they can’t handle.
Supernatural premieres on Thursday, October 13 on the CW network.
