NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos Not Interested In Nick Foles

The NFL is not as predictable as some people think that it is. According to NFL.com, the Denver Broncos are not interested in signing Nick Foles. Many were under the assumption that the team would at least have a discussion with the recently released quarterback since it is a position of need, but management decided otherwise.

To ensure that there would be no unnecessary controversy, Gary Kubiak made sure to publicly state that he respect the abilities and accomplishments of Nick Foles. Kubiak pointed out that Foles has done some amazing things in the NFL. Kubiak simply feels that it would be better for the Denver Broncos to go with the quarterbacks that they have on the roster now.

As of right now, the Denver Broncos will go with Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch as the three quarterbacks who will be competing for the starting job during training camp.

Last season, Gary Kubiak was able to bring an NFL Championship to the Denver Broncos with Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler as his starting quarterback. There was a bit of controversy at the position at times, but Kubiak was able to steer past all of that and get a victory at the Super Bowl.

After a rough season, Peyton Manning decided that it would be best to walk away from the NFL while he was on top. A Super Bowl victory is something many of his predecessors wished would have been their final memory. Without Manning, the Denver Broncos had to look elsewhere.

Brock Osweiler signed with the Houston Texans, as reported by ESPN. The move came as a surprise to many, including those within the Denver Broncos organization. Many were under the impression that he would have stuck around since Peyton Manning was no longer in the way.

The loss of Brock Osweiler and Peyton Manning forced the Denver Broncos to scramble. They quickly made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Mark Sanchez. Then, Broncos general manager John Elway decided to use a first round draft pick on Paxton Lynch, a guy that has the potential to be a star in the NFL.

The decision to not sign Nick Foles means that John Elway and Gary Kubiak have enough faith in their defense to help overcome the struggles that are bound to appear at the quarterback position. The Denver Broncos can dominate on that side of the ball.

All summer long, the Denver Broncos made headlines for reasons that they would rather avoid. Everyone wanted to know if they were going to reward Von Miller with the contract that he was seeking. As one of the most disruptive forces in the NFL, Miller eventually was signed to a six-year contract worth approximately $114.5 million, as reported by ESPN.

With a much bigger contract in hand, the expectations have risen for Von Miller. He and DeMarcus Ware need to continue to harass quarterbacks like they did during their run to the Super Bowl. The dominance enabled the Denver Broncos to go through several rough patches with an aging Peyton Manning.

The Denver Broncos will have a tougher route to get back to the Super Bowl this season. Even with the signing of Von Miller, the team has to compensate for some losses on defense. The Jacksonville Jaguars plucked Malik Jackson away with a $90 million contract. Danny Trevathan jumped ship to the Chicago Bears to reunite with John Fox.

As good as he can be in the NFL, Nick Foles should not be viewed as a savior. The Denver Broncos believe that they can survive with what they have now.
