Aaron Rodgers Breaks His Silence About Brother’s Stint On ‘The Bachelorette,’ Says It’s Inappropriate To Talk About Family Matters On TV

Aaron Rodgers has remained amazingly silent regarding his brother Jordan’s high-profile stint on The Bachelorette, but the Green Bay Packers quarterback has finally opened up about his feelings regarding his estranged brother’s stint on the ABC reality show.

ESPN posted a video of Aaron Rodgers addressing his non-existent relationship with his brother at his first day of Packers training camp. In the interview, Aaron admitted that he doesn’t watch The Bachelorette but added that he has a definite opinion on what should and shouldn’t be talked about in a public forum.

“I haven’t seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot,” Aaron Rodgers told reporters of his brother’s appearance on The Bachelorette. “As far as those kind of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters. I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.”

Aaron Rodgers may not watch The Bachelorette, but his comment makes it pretty clear that he has heard what his brother has been up to on the show, as well as what he said about the Rodgers family. It also makes it clear that he doesn’t like what he heard, which could further fracture his family tree.

Earlier this season on The Bachelorette, Jordan Rodgers revealed that he doesn’t currently speak to Aaron. Jordan even made it sound as though the entire Rodgers family is estranged from the football pro.

“I chose to stay close to my family and my parents and my brother [Luke],” Jordan told Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher. “Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship. It’s just kind of how he’s chosen to live his life.”

While Jordan said he still loves Aaron and can’t even imagine the career pressure he is under, he said it’s just how things are between them right now.

Aaron Rodgers’ other brother, Luke Rodgers, also chimed in on their fractured family tree. During Fletcher’s hometown date to the Rodgers family’s California home, Luke said the clan’s strained relationship with Aaron is “something we don’t talk about.”

Jordan previously dodged questions about Aaron when he was asked about the status of their relationship on Katie Nolan’s Garbage Time Podcast. At the time, the younger Rodgers said he does have a relationship with the Packers pro, but that it’s “complicated.” Rodgers also avoided a question about whether or not Aaron watches The Bachelorette, giving a generic answer that “everybody” watches the show, but that he hasn’t gotten any advice from his superstar sibling.

“I’m sure everybody watches the show, so yeah,” he said. “I haven’t gotten any pointers on my kissing or on my dating.”

When Nolan asked him if he has ever been worried about girls using him to get close to Aaron and his celebrity girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, he said, “[T]hat’d be really easy to read right off that bat, and that’d be a big turn off.”

Aaron Rodgers and his brother used to be on much better terms. They previously posted several videos that showed them working out together, and they seemed to be very close at the time. While Aaron Rodgers’ football career has taken off, his younger brother, who once played college football for Vanderbilt, hasn’t been nearly as successful. Still, Jordan Rodgers recently scored a sportscasting gig with SEC Network.
