Where Are ‘Game Of Thrones’ Characters? Jorah Mormont Actor Spotted On A Flight To Belfast, Character Will Be In Season 7

It’s fair to say that the fate of certain Game of Thrones characters is of paramount concern to fans. Since loyal Daenerys Targaryen supporter Jorah Mormont disappeared early in Game of Thrones Season 6, there’s been widespread speculation around whether or not viewers of the show will see him again. However, those concerns have now been put to rest, with actor Iain Glen, known for his role as Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones, spotted on a flight to Belfast, where the show is filmed.

According to Vanity Fair, Belfast is the main shooting location for Game of Thrones, with most footage of Westeros filmed on location in Northern Ireland. With that in mind, when an actor is spotted travelling to and from Belfast, there’s a good chance they’re set to appear in the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.

Jorah the Andal, a fan favorite Game of Thrones character was last seen during the early stages of the show’s sixth season, sent out on a quest by his queen Daenerys Targaryen to find a cure for the greyscale he’d picked up in an earlier season. However, that was the last that was seen of Jorah Mormont during the most recent season of Game of Thrones, leaving many fans concerned that Jorah Mormont would simply disappear into the ether, much like other Game of Thrones characters have in the past.

Both actor Iain Glen and Game of Thrones‘ showrunners have remained largely hush over Jorah Mormont’s fate. However, the fears of fans now appear to have been quashed, with Iain Glen spotted on a flight to Belfast with Gwendoline Christie, known for playing Brienne of Tarth in the HBO fantasy drama, on Monday. Christie is widely known to be currently filming scenes in Belfast for Game of Thrones Season 7. With that in mind, the pair being spotted together suggests Iain Glen is doing the same.

According to Blasting News, adding further fuel to the speculation, Iain Glen was even said to be reading a script during the flight. Whilst that script could very well be for another upcoming project the actor is working on, it only fuels the theory that Jorah Mormont will return to Daenerys Targaryen’s side in Game of Thrones Season 7.

That being said, during recent appearances at Comic-Con 2016, several members of the Game of Thrones cast confirmed that they hadn’t yet received scripts for Season 7. With that in mind, it appears likely that Iain Glen was reading a script for a different project. However, the actor being on a flight to Game of Thrones‘ filming location of Belfast with one of the show’s other stars, Gwendoline Christie, is too much of a coincidence to be cast aside as irrelevant.

If shooting of Game of Thrones Season 7 isn’t due to start for a few weeks yet, the simple answer for Iain Glen and Gwendoline Christie to be travelling to Belfast could be for costume fittings. Filming of Game of Thrones is expected to start later than usual this year, with the show’s seventh season not set to air until later in 2017.

Game of Thrones’ showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have confirmed that they need more time to film the show’s shorter seventh season, whilst also shaking up Game of Thrones‘ schedule in order to correlate the weather with the fact that winter has now arrived in Westeros. However, with promises that Game of Thrones Season 7 will be the show’s most impressive yet, we can’t imagine that fans will be too disappointed about waiting a little longer for the show’s return.
