Billionaire Donald Trump Reportedly Trying To Worm Out Of Virginia Hotel Bill [Video]

Billionaire presidential candidate Donald Trump is reportedly trying to worm his way out a Virginia hotel bill. The reason? According to Donald Trump, the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center provided “inadequate service” because the ballroom used for a recent event was too hot for his comfort. Following the overheated Monday event, Donald Trump reportedly threatened to withhold payment for the hotel room that, despite being hotter than he may have liked, he used for his appearance.

According to a CNN report, not paying his bills when he has a complaint about service is something of a habit of billionaire Donald Trump and his companies.

During his event speech, Donald Trump even complained to his captive (and sweating) audience about what he clearly believed to be a deficiency in the Virginia hotel’s ambiance.

Billionaire Donald Trump was very specific with his criticism of the venue and its temperature. During his rant, he didn’t mention who had chosen and/or vetted the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center for his large gathering of presumed supporters.

“If we are in a ballroom, it’s not supposed to be so hot that everybody in the audience is using a fan. You ought to try turning on the air conditioning or we are not going to get you paid. I pay my bills so fast with somebody good. With somebody average, I pay them OK. With somebody great, a lot of times I give them bonuses… This is ridiculous.”

While those in attendance at billionaire Donald Trump’s Virginia campaign event laughed and even looked hot and uncomfortable as Trump bitterly complained from the podium, the Virginia hotel has come out in defense of its facilities. The Hotel Roanoke responded to Donald Trump’s threat of non-payment on Tuesday, the day after the over-heated Trump event took place.

According to the hotel, the building’s air conditioning was working at full capacity during the event. Indeed, the venue blamed the uncomfortably hot temperatures at the event on the large crowd in attendance.

“The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center is committed to providing exceptional service and accommodation for all guests and members of the community. The hotel’s HVAC system was on and working properly through the event. We made every effort to create a comfortable environment for all of our guests given soaring temperatures and a ballroom filled with hundreds of attendees.”

The Northeast United States is currently in the midst of one of the hottest, most prolonged heat waves in years.

While the campaign of billionaire Donald Trump has yet to publicly comment about the situation, CNN reports that Donald Trump and his campaign has a very lengthy history of stiffing employees, including contractors, service providers, and unfortunate individuals. It has reportedly become a very pervasive pattern of behavior demonstrated by the billionaire and his campaign, and almost every single time it has been reported, the contractor/service provider in question has claimed that Donald Trump alleged either poor service or sub-par work as an excuse for non-payment.

In June, it was reported by multiple credible media outlets (including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today) that billionaire Donald Trump and the companies that use his name are embroiled in literally hundreds and hundreds of legal claims alleging that the billionaire doesn’t pay his bills and/or meet his financial obligations with service providers and others.

The irony of the situation is that multiple investigations, investigations that scoured legal and court records and involved personal interviews with alleged victims, uncovered that many of the people and businesses that have been stiffed by Trump paradoxically represent his target voter base.

According to the multiple investigations into the business practices of billionaire Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee often largely gets away with not paying his bills in these situations. The pattern reportedly uncovered by investigative journalists is that Trump and his legal team often get sued for non-payment by the people/businesses they stiff. Then, the issue is more often than not settled for far less than the dollar amount owed by Donald Trump.

How does he pull it off? Suing someone is expensive and time-consuming. Suing a billionaire real estate mogul is even more so, and in many cases, the people reportedly stiffed by Donald Trump simply can’t afford long, drawn-out litigation.

Billionaire Donald Trump, however, can afford to stretch lawsuits for non-payment out as far as they possibly can be stretched. So, many plaintiffs simply settle out of court for whatever pittance they can recover.

Despite the multiple investigations into his reported pattern of non-payment, Trump has repeatedly contended that he pays for what he deems to be “adequate service.” Billionaire Donald Trump often also pats himself on the back, claiming to pay more than agreed upon for better-than-expected service.
