Drake Films ‘Child’s Play’ Music Video In Houston, Seeks Extras For Cheesecake Factory Fight Scene

Drake may be gearing up for the start of his “Summer Sixteen Tour” alongside rapper and “Jumpman” collaborator, Future, but it looks like Drake is still busy putting the finishing touches on his rumored new music video for his Views track, “Child’s Play.”

Rumors of an impending video release for “Child’s Play” began earlier this week after Drake was spotted hitting up V Live nightclub in Houston where reports say the rapper, alongside several extras and a camera crew, were busy filming club scenes for the upcoming video, The Source reports.

The rumors further escalated on Wednesday after an official fansite for Drake took to Twitter to post several behind-the-scenes photos and clips from the alleged video shoot, including one photo of a clapperboard which names Spiff TV as the director for the “Child’s Play” video.

In another video posted to Word On Road‘s Twitter page, Drake can be seen sitting on the edge of a stage before being presented with a trophy from V Live which reads, “MVP AWARD TO: DRAKE FROM VLIVE HOUSTON” alongside the quote, “‘They don’t make awards for loyalty but you deserve it. 6 GOD.'”

Later that evening, Drake was spotted exiting one of his favorite restaurants, The Cheesecake Factory, while in Houston, further fueling reports of an impending video for “Child’s Play” given the rapper’s memorable shout-out to the restaurant chain in the track when he raps, “Why you gotta fight with me at Cheesecake / You know I love to go there / Say I’m actin’ light skin, I can’t take you nowhere / This a place for families that drive Camrys and go to Disney / They don’t need to know all of our business.”

Now, it appears that Drake is planning to further show his love for The Cheesecake Factory after fans recently discovered a casting call for the rapper’s upcoming video in which extras are requested to play “Cheesecake Factory workers and guests” who will be watching “a fight at the restaurant.”

The casting notice for “Child’s Play,” which is said to be filmed in Los Angeles over the weekend, seeks both male and female actors from all ethnicities to play a background role in the music video in exchange for $1,000 for a lead role, $200 for a table server, and $100 for all other extras that make the cut for the project.

The Cheesecake Factory previously gushed over Drake’s “Child’s Play” shout-out back in April with a humorous tweet aimed at poking fun of the memes stemming from Drake’s Views album cover, which shows Drake overlooking Toronto while sitting atop the city’s famous CN Tower, Esquire reports.

While there’s currently no official word on when we can expect the “Child’s Play” music video to arrive, the project is rumored to follow “One Dance” as the second official music video release off of Drake’s Views album, excluding the video for “Hotline Bling” which dropped in October of last year. Drake was spotted filming for the “One Dance” music video in South Africa last month but has yet to make an announcement regarding a tentative release date for the highly anticipated video.

Drake and Future’s “Summer Sixteen Tour” kicks off on Wednesday, July 20, in Austin, Texas.
