Taylor Swift’s Childhood Friend Claims She Once Tore Up His Photo, Never Liked Sharing The Spotlight

A childhood friend of Taylor Swift’s is dropping some serious bombshells about the “Shake It Off” singer, dishing on her alleged diva antics that went down during a youth theater production of the musical Bye Bye Birdie.

Cody Derespina, who claims to have known Swift during her youth theatre days, revealed in a candid piece written for Fox News that he’s officially on Team Calvin Harris following Swift’s recent drama with her former boyfriend before dishing the details on exactly what a young Taylor was really like to work with.

Derespina recalled starring in Bye Bye Birdie with an 11-year-old Swift back in 2001, claiming that the two never got along behind the scenes of the show and even alleging that Taylor once crumpled up his cast photo after flying into a jealous rage backstage at the production.

“[Taylor] was the established star of the group and I was a newcomer,” Cody said of his rocky past with the star in his Fox News article, claiming that “Swift didn’t seem to enjoy sharing the spotlight” as a pre-teen.

“We barely if ever talked when we weren’t reading lines,” Swift’s former co-star continued, recalling that his relationship with Taylor was so fractured 15 years ago that she actually tore a photo of him from the wall, crumpled up the picture and threw it following a tense performance of the musical.

“After one performance, Swift ripped down a series of pictures of me, crumpled them and threw them against a wall,” he alleged. “It’s understandable we didn’t get along,” Derespina added, confirming that he’s “Team Calvin” following the recent drama.

Cody then went on to reveal that he doesn’t believe Taylor Swift has changed too much since her Bye Bye Birdie days, even offering up a little advice to Swift’s ex Calvin Harris following his recent scathing call out of Taylor, who he dated for 15-months before the two called it quits earlier this year.

“It doesn’t seem as if Swift has changed all that much from her days of ripping down my photos,” Cody continued of Taylor. “Only now, she’s become famous for ripping her various ex-boyfriends in songs after their breakups.”

“Don’t feel too bad, Calvin,” Taylor’s former Bye Bye Birdie co-star told Harris in the Fox News article, joking to the Scottish DJ, “I’ve been there.”

Taylor is yet to respond to her former co-star’s bombshell claims about her supposed 11-year-old diva antics, though the reports come just days after Harris took serious aim at the star in a series of messages posted on Twitter on July 13.

Calvin blasted his former girlfriend after a rep for Swift confirmed to People that she wrote Harris’s latest hit with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.

“[It’s] hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” Calvin tweeted out in reference to the revelation.

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex [boyfriend] down for something to do,” Calvin continued, referencing Swift’s whirlwind romance with Tom Hiddleston that hit the headlines just two weeks after their split.

“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC,” Harris said, “but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

Calvin then closed out his pretty scathing messages to Swift by telling Taylor, “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”
