‘Walking Dead’ Spoilers: First Look At Season 7 Revealed

The Walking Dead Season 7 is right around the corner, and the very first look at the upcoming season has finally been revealed. Entertainment Weekly got their hands on the first photo from the new season, and it’s all about super villain Negan.

In the new Walking Dead Season 7 photo, Negan is seen with a smirk on his face pointing his scary looking baseball bat, named Lucille, at one of the members of Rick’s group, who is not shown.

The photo is a scene that looks very familiar, as it seems nearly identical to the end of Season 6 when fans were left with a shocking cliffhanger after Negan brutally killed a member of Rick’s group by bashing their head in with the bat. The report claims that the similarity is no accident and that Season 6 left a lot of unfinished business to be revealed when Season 7 premieres on AMC in October.

While the wait to find out who Negan’s victim is has been a long one, executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directed both the Season 6 finale and Season 7 premiere, promises that Walking Dead viewers will find out the identity in the Season 7 premiere.

“Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode.”

Nicotero also weighed in on what fans can expect out of Negan during Season 7 and beyond, as it’s already been revealed that the character isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, in the Walking Dead comic book series, Negan is still very much alive. He even got his own origin issues.

“[Negan’s] the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”

It seems that as summer progresses, so do the Walking Dead spoilers and rumors. Fans are still trying to figure out who Negan’s victim was, and names such as Glenn, Abraham, Daryl, Maggie, and Michonne have all been tossed around, but nothing has been confirmed. While it seems that Glenn is the obvious candidate since he’s suffers the same fate in the comic book series, some viewers are still holding out hope that the character will be saved for the TV show and that someone else was on the receiving end of Negan’s bat in the Season 6 finale.

No matter how Season 7 plays out, there is something that fans won’t be able to escape, and that’s change. It’s already been revealed that the show is taking a dramatic turn and won’t be the same after the premiere in October. Norman Reedus, who plays fan favorite character Daryl Dixon, says that everything is different, and that is largely in part to Negan.

“There’s different worlds now. There’s different characters. There’s a change of power on the show. Negan coming in has flipped our whole script so to speak. We are no longer the Alpha right now. It’s a new world. It’s a new, dangerous world in a different way now.”

Meanwhile, as Walking Dead fans still have a few months to wait until Season 7 premiere, they can look forward to the very first trailer being released next week. According to reports, the TWD panel at San Diego Comic-Con is scheduled for Friday, July 22, and the show has made it a tradition to release the first trailer for each season at the event. The trailer will undoubtedly be uploaded online soon after, and fans around the world will be obsessing over it until October.
