Kim Kardashian has been desperate to slim down to her pre-baby weight. But some would say that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s diet has gotten out of control. Kim has been dropping the pounds with her Atkins low-carb diet.
According to Radar Online, Kim Kardashian, 35, has gone to extremes to shed the weight. She has become obsessed over her workout routine, and sources told the outlet that she’s been spending a lot more time planning her meals, working out, and counting her calories. Kardashian has been more obsessed with losing weight rather than with taking selfies.
“It’s crazy. She has a whole iPad dedicated to her body, with all the fitness apps, heart rate monitors, step counts, BMI calculators, metabolism timers and several dedicated online trainers to help her get the perfect body. Even when she gets up from the lounge she has to stop and input the data into her ‘firepad,’ as she calls it,” laughed one of the sources.
“She has alarms set up for when she’s to take this vitamin supplement and when it’s time for a protein shake,” added another insider. “It’s completely obsessive but typical for someone with her OCD tendencies. It’s pretty extreme, but she’s become so boring to hang out with. The constant selfies were bad enough, but this is a whole other level.”
Kardashian is more about documenting her weight loss journey on her social media accounts. She’s even been sharing photos of the meals she eats. She also shares the photos and clips of her stylist fittings and weigh-ins on her Snapchat account. Kardashian’s fans will be able to eat like her since they know exactly what she does in order to lose the weight.
Her nutritionist recently spoke to Self magazine about how Kim dropped 60 pounds after she gave birth to Saint West back on December 5. Colette Heimowitz, Atkin’s Vice President of Nutrition & Education and Kardashian’s personal nutritionist, told the outlet that her diet isn’t as strict as people think. She has been closely following the Atkins 40 diet, which includes 40 grams of carbs per day. Kim thought that the Atkins 20 diet was too strict for her since she was breastfeeding.
Heimowitz says anyone can follow this diet because it involves three major food groups. Kardashian loves that she can satisfy her sweet tooth. People who follow the Atkins 40 diet eat three to four 6-ounes of protein per day, six to eight servings of vegetables and three to five servings of carbs, and three servings of healthy fats per day.
You don’t have to give up the sugar completely to see serious results. To help calm your sweet tooth, eat your dessert with Splenda or another sugar substitute. Kim loves to eat Atkin’s low-carb peanut butter cups and Harvest Trail Bars. The reality star doesn’t do anything extreme like skip meals or go four hours without food, despite the rumors.
“Even if you’re not hungry, eat a little,” Heimowitz says. “Eat three meals and two snacks a day, and you’re less likely to lose your resolve.”
What does Kim Kardashian eat in a typical day? For dinner, she shared a plate of salmon with some Brussel sprouts. As for dessert, she opted for a frittata topped with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. When it comes to snacking time, Kardashian will go for a slice of cheese or guacamole and vegetables.
But, according to the Stir, the starlet’s strict diet has allowed her to drop seven pounds in two weeks. Now, keep mind that Kim has been working out twice per day and now only eats 20 grams of carbs per day. That sounds different from what her nutritionist told Self. Kim recently got slammed for her tiny waist in Fergie’s new video for “M.I.L.F. $.” But Kim fired back at her haters and said that she got a tiny waist thanks to a corset and some latex.
