Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo Welcome Baby Boy Camden John
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo welcomed a healthy baby boy on September 12.
The couple released a statement to People Magazine, saying:
“We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey. Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.”
Minnillo and Lachey were married in August 2011. This is their first baby together.
The celebrity couple has been very open about the pregnancy. Minnillo has posted several baby bump photos on Twitter, and Lachey just couldn’t stop talking about his new family.
“I can’t even explain how excited I am … For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I’ve looked forward to this moment. Now that it’s almost here, it’s awesome.”
The former boy band member told MTV earlier this year that they were having a hard time picking a name.
“I think we may have to steal ‘Sophia’ from you [since that’s Vanessa’s first choice]. If it’s a boy, we’re not really sure yet … If I have a son first, he’s going to be named Colin. Now Colin, it’s not a good name [to Vanessa]. It’s a tough thing, these names.”
Well, it looks like Vanessa vetoed the Colin name.
The couple hasn’t shared any pictures of their new baby yet, but Vanessa did send out a little message about life after pregnancy.
