Serena Williams And Boyfriend Alexis Ohanian Become More Public After Wimbledon

Serena Williams just made history at Wimbledon by matching Steffi Graff’s 22nd major title in the Open era. She is now officially among tennis history’s greatest, and it looks like she and her boyfriend, Alexis Ohanian, are taking this opportunity to make their relationship a little bit more public.

Like a good boyfriend, Alexis Ohanian was there to emotionally and spiritually support Serena Williams as she made history by beating Angelique Kerber in two straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.

He even pinned his tweet to the top on his Twitter account, showing the world just how much this Wimbledon win means for him.

The road to Wimbledon has not been easy for Serena, and it looks like Alexis was there for her as much as he could.

Billie Jean King commented in the New York Times article just how “depressed” she looked the months leading up to the tournament when everything changed.

“When I saw her before Wimbledon, I knew she was going to do better because I knew she wasn’t as depressed,” he said. “You can just tell she hasn’t been happy off the court or on, just not right.”

Even after her big loss at French Open, when she lost to Garbine Muguruza in the final match, she had a much better approach to things.

“I woke up one day and I just felt different,” she said according to the Telegraph. “I felt a relief. “I made my mind up that I was not going to worry about anyone or anything – about what people said or didn’t say – that I was just going to worry about tennis.”

Maybe it was her boyfriend, Alexis Ohanian, who helped her focus on the good things.

With that kind of support from her boyfriend, coach and her squad, she feels that she has more majors to win ahead of her.

The Telegraph reports that she is in good form to win more majors, especially the US Open coming up in the fall.

“Staggeringly, Williams is nine-tenths of the way to fulfilling her side of the bargain,” reports the Telegraph. “At the US Open in September, she stands poised to seize a 10th championship since turning 30, two more than Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl or Andre Agassi managed in their entire careers.”

During those months leading up to Wimbledon, Serena Williams must have been super busy, but she made time to invest in her relationship with Alexis Ohanian.

“They’ve been keeping their romance under wraps, but Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian are going strong,” reports Page Six. “We’re told the private tennis star took her techie beau along to a Web video shoot in Florida over the weekend.”

She made sure that she kept out of her depressive mode by pursuing her hobbies while keeping up with her training. Most famously, she appeared in Beyonce’s Lemonade video, which gave her a chance to show off her moves that she has been polishing for so long.

“Serena Williams appears in a video posted online this week giving a step-by-step approach to twerking,” reports the New York Daily News. “Employing the patient tone of a fitness instructor, Williams shows you how to successfully emulate Miley Cyrus’ 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance.”

But, of course, the person who has been the biggest support to her, even more than her boyfriend Alexis Ohanian, is her own mother. Serena did not forget to pay tribute to the woman in her life after her win.
