Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits brand and company has been under fire since the Better Business Bureau gave the teen’s popular cosmetic business an “F” rating due to hundreds of complaints and countless delivery mishaps. Although the kits had experienced record sell outs and seemed like they were pleasing consumers, recent reports state otherwise.
However, Kylie was sure to meet her “F” rating with a social media post that shows appreciation for her fans as well as an intention to make things right so that her Lip Kits will be satisfactory to all who purchase them. The New York Post shares about this.
“The makeup mogul Wednesday evening responded to the Better Business Bureau’s ‘F’ rating of Kylie Cosmetics, the maker of the wildly popular Kylie Lip Kits. ‘You guys are the reason I keep going and I’m motivated every day to make Kylie Cosmetics the best it can be,’ the 18-year-old wrote on her website. ‘I’m continuing to learn and I just want to make everyone happy. Because so many of you spoke out, I’m excited to tell you that the Better Business Bureau has looked at the facts and changed the rating.’ “
There’s no questions that those Kardashian-Jenners have pull, so it’s not surprising that the teen was able to get the bureau to think twice about the rating given to Kylie Lip Kits. As the Post shares, the low rating was mainly due to the company having not responded to or addressed over 100 complaints in the past year, mainly surrounding delivery issues. For this reason, the BBB changed the rating to a “C,” then later to a “B,” yet fully withdrew their rating in the end.

On Wednesday, the Better Business Bureau noted that Kylie Cosmetics currently has no rating due to the fact that the company is working on resolving complaints. The bureau then went on to state that a new rating will be issued after further review of the changes made.
Although reports claim that Kylie’s company failed to address any of the 137 complaints received, the teen defended her business and stated otherwise. Jenner insisted that she had sold “millions of Lip Kits” and that all complaints made had “been addressed in a timely manner.”

In an additional statement, Jenner shared the pride she has in her business and noted her frustration over the allegations that came with the failing grade.
“I’m sick and tired of people coming for my business. I love everything about Kylie’s Cosmetics and I will do anything in my power to protect and improve it every day and make you guys happy.I don’t want to respond to the haters but you guys deserve an answer and to know the facts. I love you and apologize to anyone who felt the urge to complain and didn’t receive the service they deserve.”
E! relays the details and breakdown about the nature of the complaints. The BBB website indicates that 70 complaints were delivery related, while 55 had to do with the actual quality of the product. Other complaints involved issues with advertising, sales and billing. The website also notes that in May, the reality star’s business was contacted about a “pattern of complaint allegations wherein complainants alleged that packages ordered were not delivered or only partially full when received.”
The website also notes the response by Kylie’s business to the allegations and topic of complaints, which E! additionally shares.
“The company replied that because their product is shipped in highly recognizable packaging, they feel that packages are being vandalized or stolen. The company also indicated that they were taking steps to change their packaging so that it is less recognizable.”
