‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell On Major Spoiler: FLASHPOINT Will Be An Important Figure In Oliver Queen’s Story

It is rare that Stephen Amell would reveal the tiniest detail about his DC character, Oliver Queen. However, during the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey, the Arrow star also confirmed that a character named Flashpoint would have a massive influence in the storyline next season.

In DC Comics, Flashpoint is one of the solo characters in the DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, Flashpoint is said to be the series that would “radically change” the status quo of the DC Universe.

In Flashpoint, Barry Allen is in an altered universe, but he is aware of the differences between the real time and the altered one. He just woke up one day with everything around him changed. Unfortunately for Barry in this altered timeline, he has no powers. His mother is also alive and his father has died because of a heart attack.

Flashpoint will also feature Gotham City where Batman is fighting with Cyborg. They are on their way to meet with Wonder Woman, while Aquaman’s race has been sunk together with the rest of Western Europe.

As Barry tries to connect with Batman, he was surprised when he saw him attack. In Flashpoint, Batman is Thomas Wayne. Bruce and his mother died during the attack in the alley. When the two cooled down, Barry tried explaining to Thomas who he was and what his secret identity is.

As Barry Allen communicates his story to Thomas Wayne, he is beginning to realize that he is not in a parallel universe, but he is in an alternate reality. Barry tried to redo the accident that gave him the power in the first place, but he just ended up getting burnt.

In his second attempt, Barry finally got his powers back, but then he also realized that the Reverse Flash might have altered history to change the formation of the Justice League.

How Will Flashpoint Connect to ‘Arrow’?

Though Flashpoint would mostly feature Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Superman, and Aquaman, Barry Allen would have a brief encounter with Oliver Queen in Star City.

During the last episode of The Flash Season 2, Barry Allen traveled back in time to stop Thawne from committing a heinous act. This is where Flashpoint would actually begin.

Though Stephen Amell did not really reveal the details of Flashpoint’s encounter with Oliver Queen, he just confirmed that it will “majorly” affect the plot point for the next season.

Interestingly, Flashpoint might also affect the storylines for both the Justice League and Legends of Tomorrow.

As for Arrow, Stephen Amell said the show will go back to the basics, noting that they perform best with Oliver Queen deals with the “problems of Star City.”

In the next season, Oliver Queen is now the mayor of Star City and he will be joined by a new mainstay character in the form of Josh Segarra who will play the character of Adrian Chase, the vigilante district attorney of Star City.

The two would collide as they both try to save Star City from the civilian point and from the vigilante camp. Adrian Chase is not aware yet of Oliver Queen’s hidden identity but he has had his fair share of vigilante activities before.

Adrian Chase was a strong investigative lawyer and he was after this big mafia group. His family was attacked and his wife and son died in a bombing. To seek his revenge, Adrian Chase tried to become a vigilante, but he was not as successful as the Arrow.

Adrian Chase, in Season 5, will now be one of the new members of the Arrow crew.

Arrow Season 5 will premiere on October 5, 2016.
