‘Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner Predicts Daenerys Marries Jon Snow

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has some bold predictions of what’s to come in Season 7 next year.

Some have speculated that Daenerys marries her nephew Jon Snow. HBO recently revealed a family tree that confirms the theory that Rhaegar Targaryen is Jon Snow’s father and Lyanna Stark is his mother.

Ned Stark kept Jon Snow identity a secret to protect from Robert Baratheon who wanted everyone with Targaryen lineage killed to protect his kingdom.

The Game of Thrones finale revealed that Daenerys has set off to Westeros and will inevitably meet Jon Snow.

Sophie Turner told Variety what she thinks will happen when the two meet after being asked if she thinks Daenerys will marry Jon Snow. Turner also shoots down rumors that Sansa Stark is marrying Jon Snow, although Turner admits it would make political sense if the two tie the knot:

“I think Jon and Daenerys are going to end up together, probably. I feel like Jon and Sansa would be a strange one, especially because isn’t it considered not legitimate if you haven’t consummated the marriage, and I really don’t think either of them would be particularly up for that. It would be very difficult to do that. [Laughs.]”

Some fans have speculated that Sansa Stark will become jealous after Jon Snow was crowned King in the North in the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale. However, Sophie Turner disagrees, she thinks that the revelation that Jon is not Ned’s bastard son will help their relationship.

When asked how Jon Snow being Sansa’s cousin will affect their relationship, Sophie Turner responded:

“Yeah, definitely. Sansa always took her mother’s side on that. She was always influenced by her mother’s resentment towards Jon because of Ned allegedly cheating on her and bringing back an illegitimate child, so finding out that Ned never cheated, that Jon isn’t an illegitimate child of Ned’s, would probably bring them closer together. I think at this point where there could be a lot of rifts in their relationship, it’s good to have something that would probably draw them closer together.”

It is unclear whether Jon Snow will pursue his claim to the Iron Throne while he is King in the North. Being the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, Jon Snow may have a greater claim to the crown than Daenerys. This scenario makes a marriage between the two characters more likely.

Daenerys’ dragons may also be vital in defeating the white walkers when they head beyond the wall.

Some fan theories have speculated that Bran Stark will unknowingly break the magic the wall that keeps the white walkers out. The Night King touched Bran Stark in a previous episode, and many believe that this will be the key to the Others getting through the wall.

When asked about women taking power in the Game of Thrones finale, Sophie Turner gives her predictions:

“I feel like Daenerys is probably the most qualified to rule at this point because she’s spent so much time and effort preparing, it would be a real disappointment if she didn’t end up on the throne for her I think, for sure. In terms of the story, I really like Cersei on the throne. I love a bit of madness.”

Game of Thrones Season 7 is expected to be shorter than the previous seasons. Therefore, we may get more action earlier in the series. Will Jon Snow and Daenerys get married? Sound off in the comments below.
