Cobie Smulders, star of How I Met Your Mother , has finally tied the knot with longtime beau Taran Killiam after a more than three year engagement.
The pair were married on Saturday after announcing their engagement in January 2009, the New York Daily News reported . Cobie Smulders and Taran Killiam, who is a star of Saturday Night Live , have a 3-year-old daughter together, Shaelyn Cado.
Shaelyn was reportedly just as excited for the wedding as her parents.
“She really wants a dress and she wants white shoes,” Cobie Smulders told ET Canada earlier this year. “She knows about (the wedding). She knows that there are sweets involved.”
The couple were married at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, California, Rumorfix.com reported , and Cobie Smulders’ How I Met Your Mother co-star Allyson Hannigan was among the 300 guests. Also in attendance was HIMYM star Neil Patrick Harris, who reportedly brought his kids along.
The nearly 15-minute ceremony was followed by a reception held near a spring-fed lake. Guests were taken to the reception by way of hayride. Cobie Smulders and Taran Killiam reportedly rented out the entire ranch for the ceremony at a cost of $43,000 a night.
The couple did keep some elements of their engagement to themselves. When asked by People magazine how the 30-year-old Taran Killiam popped the question, Cobie Smulders replied, “That’s personal, but it was very romantic, I’ll tell you that much.”
After the wedding it’s right back to work for both Cobie Smulders and Taran Killiam, Us Weekly noted . Season 8 of How I Met Your Mother begins September 24, while the 38th season of SNL debuts September 15.
