None of Taylor Swift’s friends have spoken about her newfound relationship with Tom Hiddleston. The only one who has given her friend her approval was her BFF Abigail Anderson, who she was seen on a double date with at Selena Gomez’s concert in Nashville. Now, it looks like Ruby Rose is sharing her support for the happy couple.
The Orange is the New Black star is so supportive that she supposedly wrote an essay dedicated to Taylor Swift, 26, and Tom Hiddleston, 35. Rose is not here for the backlash against the couple’s sudden relationship. On Wednesday, June 28, Rose took to Instagram to defend Swift’s decision to quickly start dating Hiddleston just two weeks after her split from DJ Calvin Harris. Rose said that she believes everyone deserves a second (or third, or fourth) chance at love.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress warned fans about the dangers of getting too deeply interested in celebrity relationships while also hinting about Swift and Hiddleston’s relationship without naming any names. Rose said that the ability to move on from a breakup is “beautiful” and should be celebrated instead of condemned.
“So if a woman moves on from a relationship 8 months (or 2 weeks) after a breakup isn’t that beautiful?” Rose posed the question. “That someone can still continue to open their hearts to people despite times in their lives I’m sure it’s been broken..It’s not an insult to every ex they have ever had…new love never erases old love. It’s a separate thing, a new entity.”
Then Rose concluded with the valuable message, “Date who you want, love who you want, love is the most valuable thing in the world and nothing comes remotely close to its significance during our time on this planet. So next time you want to tell me who I should be with or who anyone should be with… Maybe just use that energy to find your love.”
However, it’s possible that Rose was talking about her own love life. The dark-haired beauty split from her fiancée Phoebe Dahl seven months ago. She has since found love with skincare entrepreneur Harley Gusman, and the two have been posting adorable photos of each other on social media. It’s also possible that Rose is receiving her share of backlash for moving on too quickly.
Swift honored Rose back in April at the GLAAD Awards. She presented the star with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which awards an LGBT media professional who has made a significant impact on promoting equality and acceptance. Then, back in February, Rose blasted Kanye West on Twitter for dropping his controversial new song “Famous,” in which he credits himself for Swift’s success.
“Too many lines crossed,” Rose tweeted. “If I put myself in the shoes of the women he has hurt recently. Victim of Bill Cosby, The Slut shaming, Amber [Rose]…And now my dear friend Taylor.. Right before another huge moment for her.. Can I still support him and call myself a feminist? A friend? No.”
The two first met in Las Vegas over New Year’s Eve when Swift was still dating Harris. Rose and Swift partied the night away while Harris performed at his gig at Omnia nightclub outside of Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Rose even posted an adorable video of her and Swift dancing on her Instagram page.
Swift posted similar photos and videos on her Instagram page, but have since deleted them now that she’s no longer dating Harris. In fact, both Swift and Harris deleted the photos of each other, while Harris un-followed Swift and then re-followed her last week.
