Michael Lockwood And Lisa Marie Presley: What Went Wrong In Their 10-Year Marriage?
Michael Lockwood and Lisa Marie Presley are divorcing after more than 10 years of marriage. TMZ reports that Elvis Presley’s 48-year-old daughter filed for divorce from Michael Lockwood, her fourth husband, citing irreconcilable differences. Lisa Marie was previously wed to Danny Keogh, Michael Jackson, and Nicholas Cage, but at 10 years and counting, it seemed as though her marriage to Michael Lockwood was the real deal.
In her divorce filing, Lisa Marie requested full custody of the couple’s 7-year-old twin daughters, Finley and Harper. She also asked that Lockwood, 55, only be allowed monitored visitation with their girls. A rep for the couple told E! News Lisa doesn’t want “any of his money,” so spousal support and child support won’t be an issue, and a postnuptial agreement will divide the all of their assets.
Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood wed in a tradition ceremony in Kyoto, Japan in 2006. The couple led a mostly private life on a three-acre ranch in Hidden Hills, Louisiana before moving their family to Britain. With three high-profile divorces behind her, in 2007, the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley told Marie Claire magazine that she finally found her match with Michael Lockwood, even calling her longtime love her “best friend.”
“I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I’ve chased all the crazies down,” she said. “I was ready to stop the madness. At this age, I really appreciate having [a husband who is] a best friend. But you know, the other guys were fun. For a while.”

In the same interview, Lockwood said he was in “awe” of his wife, who was pregnant with their twin daughters at the time. Michael also said his mate made him believe in love again after a series of bad relationships.
“I had been through so many awful relationships before Lisa,” Michael told Marie Claire. “I was very cynical. When I met her, I told her I didn’t believe in love… She called me out about it. She said I was a coward. She gave me faith.”
While Presley and Lockwood welcomed their daughters in 2008, Lisa Marie suffered several miscarriages before delivering the two healthy babies, according to People. At the time, Presley said her life as a 40-year old mom was “chaotic bliss,” and her husband Michael Lockwood was by her side through the chaos.

Michel Lockwood’s website describes him as his wife’s musical director as well as the producer/director for singer Aimee Mann. Michael Lockwood even performed as Lisa’s lead guitarist during her Storm & Grace tour in 2012. In an interview on Oprah’s Where Are they Now, Lisa said Michael was her rock and that he handled everything in her music career.
“He takes care of everything,” she said of Lockwood. “He picks the musicians. He gets them ready to tour. That’s how we met, so we kind of knew each other that way and fell in love – you know, by just working together. I’m just amazed at how much he takes on and how much he deals with and handles.”

But something went very wrong, especially since Lisa Marie is requesting that Michael only be allowed to have supervised visitation with their young daughters.
Radar Online recently reported that Michael Lockwood has been battling heart problems and had to have emergency medical treatment after a routine stress test last Thanksgiving. Hopefully, his medical issues have been taken care of because Michael may have an even bigger battle coming up with his child custody issues with Lisa Marie.
