Mariah Carey To Marry James Packer ‘As Soon As Nick Cannon Signs Divorce Papers’

Mariah Carey is reportedly planning to marry Australian billionaire James Packer as soon as her ex-husband, Nick Cannon, finalizes their divorce, it has been revealed.

The pop icon reportedly became frustrated with Nick after sources claimed that the 35-year-old was deliberately delaying the divorce process because he still had feelings for Mariah and wasn’t ready to let her go.

Mariah, on the other hand, was already engaged and couldn’t wait to move on with her life. There was no chance that Carey was going to leave Packer to return to Nick, especially since the couple has been separated for almost two years.

Mariah was very vocal about the situation towards family and friends, stressing that she just wants the divorce to be over and done with. She’ll always remain cordial with Nick Cannon — after all, he’s the father of her two children, but anything regarding a reconciliation is out of the question.

Surprisingly enough, after reports made it known that Nick had been delaying the divorce because he supposedly still had feelings for Mariah, Cannon decided to grant Mariah’s wishes and settle the divorce once and for all.

So now that Mariah can expect to her soon-to-be ex-husband to finalize their divorce, sources tell TMZ that the 46-year-old will be looking to tie the knot with Packer right after the situation with Cannon is settled.

If one was to assume that the divorce was over and done with by next week, sources reveal that Mariah and James could very well tie the knot sometime in July. They’ve been talking about marriage for months, but those plans always had to be delayed since Nick was constantly standing in the way of the duo’s happiness.

But now that everything will be settled in the weeks to come, Mariah Carey is looking to marry Packer as soon as she has some time off from her successful Las Vegas residency. TMZ adds, “James has already divorced his wife, so all that’s left is Mimi. And one other thing… our sources say they will have a prenup, but it’s unclear if that’s been signed.”

Last week, it was alleged that Mariah Carey and James Packer had chosen to abstain from sex before marriage, which would somewhat explain the couple’s rush to tie the knot within weeks after Nick Cannon has signed the divorce papers.

Mariah is famously known to abstain from sex before marriage, having done the same when she first got together with Cannon. The TV personality, who was first shocked by the revelation that Mariah had wanted to wait until they were married before having sex, actually found that the wait made their relationship much stronger.

While it’s still unclear as to why the couple decided to go their separate ways, Carey has not looked back ever since falling in love with James, who gifted her a stunning $7 million engagement ring. Fans already predict that their wedding ceremony is going to cost a fortune, but since both Mariah Carey and James are wealthy in their own right, they can afford it.

As TMZ already confirms, Carey is more than happy to sign a prenuptial agreement with James in order to protect both of their assets. James is worth a whopping $3.9 million, whereas Mariah reportedly holds a $520 million fortune.

Insiders say the divorce should be finalized sometime in July.
