Russell Brand Lookalike Made Katy Perry Cry, BBC DJ Claims

In a recent interview with The Sun, a British DJ admits to making Katy Perry cry using a Russell Brand lookalike. BBC Radio 1 personality Scott Mills thought the prank would be funny, though it ultimately ended with Perry fleeing the room in tears.

During an interview on the DJ’s afternoon show, Mills brought in a Russell Brand lookalike to surprise his guest. Since the two were still married at the time, he thought she might get a kick out of it. Unfortunately for Mills, this seemingly-harmless little joke suddenly exploded in his face.

“Well, she ran out of the room screaming. My producer told me she was in tears in the next room, while I tried to smooth it over with viewers,” Scott explained to The Sun. “I have no idea why it freaked her. For all I know they were having marriage problems.”

Everything eventually worked out in the end, though Mills does admit that he may have been in the wrong.

“Looking back, we were pushing our luck,” he said.

Since splitting with Russell Brand, Katy Perry has had a number of short-lived relationships, MTV News reports. After a short fling with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, Perry reportedly had a brief relationship with singer-songwriter and professional chick magnet John Mayer. In order to ditch her woes for a while, Perry recently took at trip to Disneyland for a little rest and relaxation.

Brand, meanwhile, has been recently linked to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, a woman the comedian admitted to having a crush on. However, the couple have yet to confirm anything on an official level.

“Russell and Geri are just friends and have been out a few times of late,” one source explained to US Weekly. “A few media are prematurely reporting that they are in a serious relationship, [but it’s] a little early for all that type of speculation.”
