Anna Kendrick Wins ‘Hot & Funny’ Award Despite ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Delay

Anna Kendrick and Adam DeVine reunite outside Pitch Perfect 3 as they grace the stage of the Guys Choice Awards.

Pitch Perfect has become such a phenomenal success that the one-time movie turned into a full-blown franchise after its immense success in 2012 for Pitch Perfect, raking in $117 million, and then again in 2015 for Pitch Perfect 2 after hitting $285 million worldwide. Everyone adored Pitch Perfect so much that Pitch Perfect 3 was announced right alongside Pitch Perfect 2, with a schedule date of July, 2017. But it seems drama and more aca-imperfections are delaying the third installment of the franchise, bringing it from the original July 21, 2017, date to a later August 4, 2017, date (after Pacific Rim announced its second installment), then back again to July 21 (so as not not to coincide with Alien: Covenant).

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Director Elizabeth Banks
Now, it seems Pitch Perfect 3 is not so perfect after all, pushing the release date to December 22, 2017. The announcement of the yet-another delay to Pitch Perfect 3 was announced on its official Twitter account at the start of June.

What could’ve brought the delay in the schedule? Whatever it is, it seems Elizabeth Banks is not happy with the delay. Elizabeth Banks directorial debut happened when she directed Pitch Perfect 2, and then she was again responsible for directing Pitch Perfect 3. Now that the schedule is pushed to December, the Inquisitrreports that Elizabeth Banks will not be able to direct the film after all. Banks announced the following.

“The new schedule butts up against my parental responsibilities in a way I’m not really comfortable with.”

Variety, however, confirms that Banks and her husband, Max Handelman, will not completely let go of the film. Banks and Handelman will stay on as the producers of the film.

Banks adds the following.

“Development always takes longer than you expect it to. We feel obligated to put out the absolute best next movie…”

However, despite the fact that Pitch Perfect 3 is delayed and Elizabeth Banks has removed her director hat, the Pitch Perfect cast continues their optimism towards the project. Anna Kendrick just recently bagged herself an astounding award that only proves how her looks and jokes are always pitch perfect.

Last Saturday night at Spike TV’s 10th Annual Guys Choice Awards, Anna Kendrick bags the “Hot & Funny” award just to prove how she is not only beautiful, but also full of wits.

Anna Kendrick came dressed to impress
A testament to Anna Kendrick’s world-renowned beauty, she has previously been part of PEOPLE‘s World’s Most Beautiful. The whole internet, of course, would also agree how funny Anna Kendrick can also be. Her Twitter account is just hilarious to go over. Who can forget in 2015 when she live-tweeted the day she was cleaning out her closet?

We just love Anna Kendrick — as much as those at the Annual Guys Choice Awards, of course. Dressed to impress, Anna Kendrick came to Spike TV’s 10th Annual Guys Choice Awards in her beautiful form-fitting white dress with a thigh-high slit. To sprinkle some of her Kendrick-style badass, she wears over it a black leather jacket. How very Beca! She receives the award alongside her Pitch Perfect co-star Adam Devine, who was hosting the Guys Choice Awards.

The Guys Choice Awards taped just this Saturday night at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, donning a Rat Pack in Las Vegas theme. The awards night will air on Thursday, June 9, at 9 p.m. ET on Spike TV.

Watch our for Anna Kendrick as Beca Mitchell, alongside other fan-favorites Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy and Brittany Snow as Chloe Beale, in Pitch Perfect 3, coming to cinemas worldwide in December, 2017.
