Gwen Stefani Sets The Record Straight About An Engagement To Blake Shelton, But What About Those Pregnancy Rumors?
Gwen Stefani has officially crushed rumors of an engagement with Blake Shelton.
People is reporting that the Voice star dished on the engagement rumors during a radio interview on The Tommy Show. When asked about whether or not fans can expect wedding bells in the near future, Stefani was quick to shut it down.
“Let’s just take it one day at a time,” Stefani shared. “Everything’s crazy right now so no, absolutely not.”
Stefani went on to explain how the gossip surrounding her relationship with Shelton often makes her laugh.
“Can you imagine the amount of gossip-y, weird stories people make up?” Stefani said. “To me, it makes me laugh every day. I actually do Google my name just so I can see the next one that’s gonna happen because it’s gotten so out of control.”
According to ET Online, Stefani and Shelton’s similar experiences in heartbreak brought them together. Shelton went through a divorce with Miranda Lambert last summer, while Stefani and her longtime husband, Gavin Rossdale, split a month later.
The country crooner and Stefani started dating in November. Although they are clearly not engaged yet, their relationship has grown steadily stronger with each passing week.
Most recently, the two collaborated on a new track together, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” and have performed it live twice now. At the same time, Shelton and Stefani haven’t let up with their public displays of affection.
“I was spending some time with Gwen all of a sudden, and she became my closest ally, my friend, my person in my life who had my back, and I had hers,” Shelton revealed. “[I] created this bond with somebody that I never would have thought in a million years.”
Of course, the couple has faced more than just engagement rumors in the past month.
Apart from walking down the aisle together, rumors of a pregnancy have continued to surface. According to Us Magazine, both stars are more than willing to expand their family.
“[Shelton and Stefani] talk openly about their future together,” an inside source revealed. “They say things like, ‘When we get married…’ all the time.”
Gwen Stefani already has three children of her own: Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2.
Shelton, however, has yet to have any children, but he has expressed a desire to become a father in the past.
“[Stefani] is totally smitten and wants to have a baby with Blake,” the source confided. “Gwen is trying to get pregnant.”
It is believed that Shelton ended his marriage with Lambert because she didn’t want to have kids. Although this has not been confirmed, it is well known that Shelton loves kids and wants some of his own.
Fortunately for Shelton, Stefani thinks having another kid is a great idea.
“Gwen says she wants to give Blake his own kid,” the insider continued. “She wants a girl!”
Shelton has already proved that he can be a great father figure. Ever since he started dating Stefani, Shelton has bonded with her sons and has been spotted with them in public on numerous occasions.
Shelton owns a large ranch in Oklahoma but currently rents out an apartment in Los Angeles for his work on The Voice. Whenever he isn’t working on something new, the country star is often seen with Stefani and her children.
Even if Stefani isn’t pregnant at the moment, Shelton is clearly on the way to having the family he has always wanted.
“Blake always wanted a family,” says the source, “and it’s looking like he got one.”
Neither Shelton nor Stefani have officially commented on the pregnancy rumors.
