Blake Shelton Talks Miley Cyrus And Adam Levine Feud On ‘The Voice’

Blake Shelton opened up about Miley Cyrus’ new role as a coach on The Voice. What did the country star have to say about his new co-star and rival?

According to Taste of Country, Shelton recently appeared on Access Hollywood, where he was asked how he thought Cyrus would do as a coach in the new season.

“God, I hope [Miley] sucks,” Shelton playfully shared. “I hope she sucks, I hope Alicia sucks and I know Adam sucks… But I have a feeling she probably won’t.”

Cyrus was introduced last season on The Voice as a mentor. Based on her first appearance, fans are definitely in for a few surprises from the pop star. Shelton couldn’t agree more.

“I think she’ll probably work hard at this because she’s definitely someone who thinks, obviously, thinks outside the box and so I know she’s going to bring her own elements, as far as mentoring, into the show,” Shelton said. “I think The Voice needs it, I think we need her.”

Of course, Cyrus did not let Shelton’s comments go without a few of her own. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Cyrus dished on Shelton during her time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“Blake made a joke of he knows why I always have my tongue out, it’s because it’s always tired because I never stop talking,” Cyrus told Fallon. “But he’s gonna regret that when I win.”

The addition of Cyrus and Alicia Keys in the coming season marks a major shakeup for The Voice. Although Shelton and Adam Levine are returning as judges, Keys and Cyrus are replacing Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams.

While most fans are excited to see what Cyrus and Keys bring to the table, the former has already started a feud with Levine. In fact, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that Levine was furious when he found out that Cyrus was joining the competition.

Apparently, Cyrus and Levine have little in common and continue to clash on-set.

“They both have short attention spans. They find each other annoying,” an inside source explained. “Adam would get agitated when Miley would interrupt him, and she enjoyed getting under his skin.”

Clearly, Cyrus and Levine have their problems. Her relationship with Blake Shelton, however, is very good, leading many to believe that they will team up against Levine in the coming season.

Meanwhile, the change up in coaches is an attempt to re-energize the show’s audience. Producers have high hopes that adding Cyrus and Keys to the mix will attract younger viewers and lead to increased ratings.

Considering Cyrus’ good standing with producers, there is little chance that Levine will do anything to sabotage her time on the show. Even still, fans can expect plenty of drama to unfold between the two stars when The Voice returns for its 11th season.

Speaking of drama, it is unclear why Aguilera decided to take another break from the show. Although she has taken time off in the past, many have speculated that her backstage feud with Gwen Stefani might be the reason behind her exit.

Aguilera reportedly took issue with how producers treated Stefani and Shelton, who were given a bonus for their duet last season.

That being said, a source revealed that Aguilera is just taking time off as per usual.

“[Christina] always takes a season off, and next season is no different,” the insider shared.

Whatever the reason behind Aguilera’s exit, there is a strong possibility that Stefani will back in a coach’s chair in the spring of next year.

Until then, fans have a lot to look forward to in Season 11 of The Voice. Between Levine and Cyrus, the drama on the show is definitely going to reach new heights.
