Britney Spears is about to release a new album.
Spears shared new details about her forthcoming album during an interview with E! News, which took place on the set of her music video for her album’s first official single, “Make Me (Oooh).”
“It’s very exciting,” she said. “I’ve been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It’s my baby.”
Directed by David LaChapelle, “Make ME (Oooh)” will feature Britney in a collaboration with Oakland rapper G-Eazy. The single is set for release in July, with the new album coming out in the fall.
Spears also shared an Instagram photo of herself with G-Eazy. Britney showed a lot of skin in the pic, wearing a gray and black bikini, a black lace overlay, and a pair of thigh-high boots.
“Ooh look who I found,” captioned the “Baby One More Time” singer while tagging G-Eazy.
As for her yet-untitled album, Britney said that she expects the album to sound “a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. “
“It’s kind of chill,” she explained. “Very chill.”
Britney appears to be in great shape as well. Case in point: the “undisputed princess of pop” recently killed it when she performed a medley of her biggest hits at the 2016 Billboard Music awards.
The performance featured a set list that included “Work B***h,” “Womanizer,” “I Love Rock N’ Roll,” “Breathe On Me,” “Slave 4 U,” Touch Of My Hand,” and “Toxic.” Britney isn’t getting any younger, but her dance moves during the performance showed that she can still slay it on the dance floor. Also, it looks like Britney has been working out. Just look at those muscles!
The only drawback to the set list performance is that the song that started it all, “Baby One More Time,” wasn’t included. That said, the performance still rocked, and the audience didn’t have any qualms in showing their appreciation for the singer who once dominated the pop music world for so many years.
Asked what she’s been listening to these days, Britney said that she likes listening to classic rock and 80’s music.
“I’m old school. I like classic rock,” she said. “I like The Rolling Stones. The Lumineers are really cool. Sade is nice. I like 80s music, too.”
Having mentioned the Rolling Stones, Britney was asked if she’d love to have a collaboration with Mick Jagger if given the opportunity (the song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” off her second studio album was a Rolling Stones original, after all).
“Start me up, indeed!” she exclaimed.
Britney sure has come a long way since going through some rough patches in her personal life. She hit rock bottom in 2007, when police found her intoxicated in the presence of her fans. Between custody battles with Kevin Federline and numerous public meltdowns, Spears was able to come through at the end. With the help of her father, Jamie Spears, Britney was able to pick up the pieces of her life and revive her career. After scoring a gig as a judge on the talent show X-Factor and gaining a residency in Las Vegas, Britney has been on the up and up ever since.
Funnily enough, Britney has recently become the subject of false rumors. According to Life & Style, Britney’s residency in Las Vegas was causing her a lot of stress and thus resulted to multiple meltdowns. The source even reported that Spears was spotted talking to herself before one of her performances.
Gossip Cop refuted the rumor, reporting that the claim is “completely false.”
Also, Spears’s latest Instagram photo provides sufficient evidence that she is perfectly happy with what’s going on with her life.
Keep slaying and winning, Britney!
