‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Star Proves To Be A Real Life Hero After Rescuing Truck Driver From Crash

Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan proved himself to be a real life hero when he rescued a truck driver after a fiery crash, according to TMZ.

The celebrity news website reported that Flanagan, who played an outlaw biker named Filip “Chibs” Telford on Sons of Anarchy, along with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle actor Alan Ritchson, were en route to the airport from a comic con event when they witnessed a truck blow its tire and flip across the highway.

The truck driver, later identified as Jonathan Elder, told TMZ that Flanagan and Ritchson rushed to pull his unconscious brother out of the passenger seat. Then, in what can only be described as a scene straight out of a Hollywood action movie, the actors, with the help of their military truck driver, Paul, used a crowbar to free Elder’s brother right before the truck caught fire.

The Sons of Anarchy star thanked Paul for his heroics, and posted a picture on Twitter shortly after the incident with the military veteran, who also provided medical assistance to the truck driver and his brother before the first responders arrived on the scene.

While this comic con event turned out well for Tommy and his friend, it wasn’t the case during his earlier appearance at a similar event. Flanagan was fresh from appearing at a Sons of Anarchy cast reunion a few days ago at the Space City Comic Con in Houston, which, according to several reports, descended into utter chaos, much to the dismay of both the assembled fans and the cast. Flanagan’s co-star and Sons of Anarchy heart-throb Charlie Hunnam was even accused of bullying convention’s organizers into paying him for the appearance, something Hunnam “categorically” denied in a Facebook post Thursday morning.

“On Saturday morning I arrived on time to the event and attempted to hold the event organizer accountable for what I perceived to be his gross misconduct. Without further recourse I was forced to suck up the grand injustice that was being perpetrated on us all. Therefore, for all of Saturday, I appeared at all scheduled photo ops and signed as many autographs as I could. The entire event descended into utter chaos at the end of the day and I was powerless to effect positive change. At this point I felt like I had to remove myself completely as I could no longer be part of this giant con.”

As the Inquisitr reported yesterday, the Sons of Anarchy reunion was cancelled after what one witness described as “pandemonium in a huge convention hall.” According to Yard Barker, not only were the show’s cast not paid for their appearance in cash, but when they confronted the organizers about their travel and accommodation expenses, the organizer, George Comits, allegedly called the cops on them.

Comits, on his part, alleged that Charlie Hunnam and his bodyguards “exploded” every time things did not go as well as planned. Whatever the truth, ultimately Sons of Anarchy fans who had assembled to get a glimpse of their favorite stars were treated to this.

But despite having a terrible experience at the previous comic con, Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan would be pleased that late on Wednesday, he did not end up saving only one, but two lives, and his fans will always love him for that.
