‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Reunion Canceled, Cops Called On Charlie Hunnam And Crew Duped By Houston Comic Con

Fans were really looking forward to the Sons of Anarchy reunion at the Space City Comic Con in Houston this past weekend. Unfortunately, instead of seeing Charlie Hunnam and the rest of crew back in action, the reunion was canceled after Hunnam and the gang got duped by the promoter.

According to Movie News Guide, things started to unravel the moment the Sons of Anarchy cast reached Houston. Problems first arose when the cast members had trouble checking into their hotels.

Apparently, the cast members were given credit cards in order to pay for their travel expenses. The hotel, however, rejected the cards and informed the stars that they would only accept cash as payment.

Things continued to go downhill from there.

Once Hunnam and the rest of the crew arrived at the event, the promoter handed them checks as payment for their appearance. Hunnam thought something wasn’t right with the promoter and attempted to cash his check at a local bank.

The bank refused to cash the check because the account was closed, which did not go over well with the actors.

According to Cinema Blend, Hunnam and the rest of the cast confronted the promoter about the bad checks. In response, the promoter called the police and claimed that they were holding him hostage.

Although they are not hardcore bikers in real life, it is easy to see the actors getting a little rowdy with the promoter. Considering how he promised to pay them and didn’t follow through with the money, it is understandable that they got upset about the ordeal.

The Sons of Anarchy crew weren’t the only ones who got duped by the promoter. The team that was supposed to work the panel also didn’t get paid and eventually left the event.

At the same time, the promoter tried to make fans buy VIP tickets instead of regular day passes. Apparently, the day passes were sold out faster than expected, leaving only the VIP passes up for grabs.

However, even the fans that purchased the VIP tickets did not get to see the Sons of Anarchy stars in action. The panel was supposed to include Hunnam, Kim Coates, Ryan Hurst, Rusty Coones, and Emilio Rivera.

Photos of the empty table at the Space City Comic Con have surfaced on Twitter.

Although it is understandable why the actors decided not to appear at the event, the real losers are the fans who were really looking forward to a Sons of Anarchy reunion. Although there was no reunion, the guys did stick around and meet and greet the fans who had traveled to see them.

At least fans still have the new Sons of Anarchy spinoff as well as the comic book series on the horizon. Hopefully, the latest debacle won’t prevent any future reunions from happening.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail has released photos of Hunnam making his way through Los Angeles with longtime girlfriend Morgana McNelis. The two treated themselves to a little breakfast before a morning shopping spree.

Hunnam wore his usual newsboy hat fitted with a pair of jeans and gray sweatshirt for the outing.

Hunnam’s recent sighting comes after the actor’s work in Guy Ritchie’s new film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur, and James Gray’s newest movie, The Lost City of Z.

Hunnam’s outing with McNelis also marks a rare public appearance for the couple. Although fans recently criticized their relationship, Hunnam defended his girlfriend and asked fans to stop the hate.

“It has been brought to my attention that there is a group of immature girls posting a large number of hard messages aimed at my long time girlfriend,” Hunnam told fans in a heated letter. “I would respectfully ask you to stop doing this.”
