Calvin Harris Dumped Taylor Swift Over Pressure To Marry ‘Blank Space’ Singer, Taylor Readying Heartbreak Songs?

Just one day after it was confirmed that Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris had broken up, new reports allege that it was the famous DJ who made the decision to dump Swift, fearing that the pressure to marry the 26-year-old would eventually take a toll on their romance.

According to sources, Taylor adored Calvin so much that she had already gushed to friends and family about her plans to eventually marry the British superstar. And while those comments initially started out lightheartedly, Swift seems to have hinted at the fact that she wants to settle down with Harris sooner rather than later.

And that kind of commitment is just something that the 32-year-old couldn’t give Taylor — at least not right now. Why? Reports continue to reveal that the “How Deep Is Your Love” hitmaker is solely focused on his career at the moment.

Even the thought of planning a wedding and tying himself down to Taylor at a time where his career is better than ever just didn’t sit too well with Harris, who just recently landed another Billboard top 10 hit with the Rihanna-featured song “This Is What You Came For.”

A source told Hollywood Life, “Taylor was starting to pressure Calvin into walking down the aisle and he just felt that he wasn’t ready yet. He’s still, and always will be, career-focused and doesn’t want to settle down just yet.”

According to another source, the couple did not end on bad terms. In fact, Taylor was said to have been rather blindsided by the split, especially since the breakup comes just weeks after Calvin found himself involved in a rather serious car accident.

Swift made sure she cancelled everything in her schedule so that she can be by Calvin Harris’ side, but by the look of things, the two were no longer connecting the way they once were — and the whole talk of marriage and wedding planning seemed to have triggered the DJ’s decision to pull the plug once and for all.

With that being said, despite the fact that Calvin and Taylor ended on good terms, Swift has not ruled out the possible chance of penning new heartbreak songs related to the downfall of her relationship with the 32-year-old British-born DJ.

Swift, who is infamously known for writing some of the biggest charting songs about famous Hollywood exes, could potentially dedicate an entire album to Calvin and his sudden decision to dump her, especially since she didn’t even see the split coming.

Perhaps an angle that the singer could approach her new music is by writing songs about Harris, how he broke her heart after she had already gushed to friends and family members how she would soon be walking down the aisle with the love of her life, only to then find out the man she loves doesn’t feel the same way.

Fans are convinced that Calvin Harris will definitely be talked about on the singer’s forthcoming album — whether it’ll be in a positive way has yet to be heard when Taylor makes the official announcement for the release of new material, presumably later this year.

Either way, Calvin seems content with his decision to dump Taylor Swift. While he has remained rather silent on social media, Harris remains to be in good spirits.
