Gwen Stefani Spills The Beans On Rumored Engagement With Blake Shelton

In an interview with 94.7 Fresh FM’s “The Tommy Show” on Wednesday, Gwen Stefani finally set the record straight about recent reports claiming that she and boyfriend Blake Shelton have gotten engaged, the People reports.

“Let’s just take it one day at a time,” Stefani, 46, said when asked if she and Shelton have any plans of getting hitched any time soon. “Everything’s crazy right now so no, absolutely not.”

Since Blake and Gwen announced back in November that they’re officially dating, the couple have been the subject of countless rumors. Stefani admits that she can’t help but feel amused by all the weird stories that have been cropping up on the internet on a regular basis.

“Can you imagine the amount of gossip-y, weird stories people make up?” the No Doubt frontwoman said after being asked if she’ll be wearing an engagement ring on her upcoming This Is What The Truth Feels Like tour.

“To me, it makes me laugh every day. I actually do Google my name just so I can see the next one that’s gonna happen, because it’s gotten so out of control,” she added.

“The best part about it is it’s hilarious; the worst part about it is that some people actually believe that stuff like that is what’s funny,” she said.

The “I Used To Love You” singer’s denial of the engagement came not long after US Weekly reported that she and Shelton are planning on getting married and having a baby soon.

“Gwen and Blake talk openly about their future together,” according to the magazine’s source. “They say things like, “When we get married…” all the time.”

The source added that Shelton has always wanted a family of his own but was unable to start one because his ex Miranda Lambert wasn’t up to the idea.

“Blake was dying to have kids, but Miranda kept putting it off,” the source claimed.

While Gwen has already shut down most of the source’s claims, the part about Blake wanting to become a father sounds true enouogh. For one, the seven-time Grammy nominee has recently become “closer and closer” to Gwen’s two boys.

In fact, Blake has been seen numerous times hanging out with Stefani’s sons, the most recent of which being a few days ago when Kingston celebrated his tenth birthday. On Kingston’s special day, Blake Shelton took him and Gwen for a helicopter ride. Stefani shared via Instagram a few photos and a video taken while inside the chopper.

The power couple started dating not long after both got separated from their respective partners. Stefani announced in August last year that she and Gavin Rossdale went their separate ways after 13 years of marriage. Their divorce has been finalized in October.

Shelton and Miranda both filed for divorce in July last year after four years of marriage. The divorce was reportedly finalized on that same day. Miranda is his second wife after being previously married to Kaynette Gern from 2003 to 2006.

Gwen and Blake’s respective splits from their ex-spouses followed by their romantic hookup became a source for inspiration for them both, musical-wise. Even more so for Gwen, who admitted that she had suffered from writer’s block in the 10 years leading up to her third solo effort. Since its March release, This Is What The Truth Feels Like has been well-received by music critics. The album also debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. To promote the album, Gwen is set embark on a U.S. tour in July.

Blake’s 12th studio album, If I’m Honest, has been met with similar success, garnering mostly positive reviews and topping the country albums chart with over 150,000 units sold in its first week of release.
