Jewish Student Beaten And Had His Mouth Stapled Shut By Nazi Saluting Attackers, Police Say Not A Hate Crime

Zach Tennen, a college student from East Lansing Michigan was at a party close to campus on Sunday night when he got a lot more than he bargained for. Tennen was savagely beaten by two attackers who said they were part of the KKK, raised Nazi salutes and beat him so bad his jaw will have to be wired shut. Then they put staples through his lips. For some reason the police are saying this doesn’t appear to be a hate crime.

Tennen’s attackers saw him at the party and asked if he was Jewish. When he said yes they told him they were in the KKK and screamed “heil Hitler” before jumping on him and beating him down. Tennen told reporters that during the attack, after he was beaten unconscious, the attackers managed to put staples through his gums.

Tennen said;

“It was coming up in my two bottom teeth and it started in my gum, so, somehow they managed to staple it.”

Tennen’s mother told the Detroit Free Press that more than 20 people watched the attack and instead of helping they waited until the attack was over then threw Tennen out of the party! Tennen was beaten so bad that his jaw will have to be wired shut.

Anti-Defamation League Detroit Regional Director, Betsy Kellmen told the MailOnline in a statement:

“We are horrified by this violent assault and allegations that the student may have been viciously attacked because he was Jewish. We are confident that the East Lansing Police will thoroughly investigate this deeply troubling case and, given the allegations, treat it as a possible hate crime. We hope the perpetrators will be swiftly brought to justice.”.

As the incident occurred off campus in East Lansing, The East Lansing Police Department will be handling all information about the crime and can be contacted with any leads.
