‘No Man’s Sky’ PS4 Release Date Now Set For August To ‘Deliver Something Special’

Hello Games confirmed a new No Man’s SkyPS4 release date. Originally slated for June launch, Sean Murray, on his post on official PlayStation Blog site, revealed that the survival video game will now be arriving in August.

Specifically, No Man’s Sky’s release date for PS4 and PC platforms is set for August 9 in the U.S. The game will hit the shelves in Europe on August 10, and in the United Kingdom on August 12. Murray explained that there are vital moments which have to be refined more, thus the need to delay No Man’s Sky release date for PS4 and PC. Postponing the game’s arrival for a few weeks will allow the development team to bring in “something special.”

“The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief,” Murray noted. “As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this.”

“However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.”

Even though NoMan’s Sky release date has been delayed, Hello Games assured that the development of the game is “genuinely going well.” Describing the team working on the game, Murray shared, “This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes, though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.”

Talking about the game itself, Murray shared through his blog post that No Man’s Sky will have an “incredibly vast” universe. “This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.”

No Man’s Sky is “about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy,” the game’s official website reads. Players will have to “explore uncharted solar systems and catalogue unique new forms of life” as well as look for ancient artefacts which could unleash the universe’s secrets.
