‘The 100’: Marie Avgeropoulos Teases ‘Depths Of Despair’ — Octavia’s Decision Affects Sky Crew’s Survival In Season 4 [Spoilers]

The 100 Season 4 will not premiere until 2017. However, that doesn’t mean it is too soon for spoilers. One character fans want to know more about is Octavia, played by actress Marie Avgeropoulos. After Lincoln’s (Ricky Whittle) death in Season 3 and Octavia’s actions in the season finale, what will become of her character in Season 4? Avgeropoulos teased that Octavia will be dealing with the “depths of despair.” Also, expect her season finale decision to affect how the Sky Crew survives.

Warning: The 100 Season 4 spoilers are ahead.

The 100 Season 3 finale concluded with Alie (Erica Cerra) telling Clarke (Eliza Taylor) that in six months the Earth would be inhabitable. The reason given was a nuclear disaster due to the power plants. As for Octavia, she killed Pike (Michael Beach) without hesitation. It was something she wanted to do after he executed Lincoln. However, Alie had to be dealt with first. Once that was done, Octavia took care of business, which shocked fans and the Sky Crew.

It turns out that Octavia’s decision could affect the Sky Crew’s chances of survival in Season 4 of The 100. In a video uploaded to YouTube by IGN, Octavia was asked about the next season of The CW post-apocalyptic series.

“It’s something she had to think through, but couldn’t help doing,” Marie Avgeropoulos teased about Octavia’s decision. “It will affect the rest of the group and The 100 and how they survive.”

As for if fans should expect any changes with Octavia, the answer is yes.

“Next season, you’re going to see Octavia take an even darker turn into the depths of her despair,” The 100 actress said regarding Octavia in Season 4, “and she makes some interesting choices then, too.”

When asked if Octavia would be even more dangerous in Season 4 of The 100, Avgeropoulos said her character would be a double-edged sword. Marie added that Octavia can’t trust anyone and she hopes the character ventures out on her own. However, will she do what Clarke did and just disappear? The actress wouldn’t say, but did explain that Octavia is always wrestling with decisions, particularly when it has to do with her own family.

As fans recall, in Season 3 of The 100, Octavia’s brother, Bellamy (Bob Morley), committed the ultimate betrayal. He joined Pike’s anti-Grounder mission and took part in killing Indra’s (Adina Porter) army, who were outside Arkadia to protect them. Bellamy also made other decisions when he partnered with Pike that ultimately led to Lincoln’s death. Things are not going to get any easier for Octavia in Season 4. Avgeropoulos revealed that things are going to be difficult for her character.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, expect Octavia to get even darker in Season 4 of The 100. Also, Just Jared, Jr. spoke to Marie Avgeropoulos in a separate interview regarding Octavia and Lincoln’s relationship.

“Of course, myself as an actress I was so sad to see Ricky Whittle go. He’s a wonderful man and we have a great friendship,” Avgeropoulos told Just Jared, Jr. regarding Lincoln’s death on The 100. “That romance was so deserved. They made so many epic sacrifices for one another. It was the classic, forbidden Romeo and Juliet romance. That’s the way it started and that’s the way it ended. It was horrible and beautiful all at the same time. That’s all they kept doing, is sacrificing their lives for one another. That’s exactly how the story ended and I feel like that chapter in a respectful way, in terms of the romance.”

The actress also said that in Season 4, Octavia will take a lot of dark turns. Expect to see the character reveal some “really nasty layers” as she continues to change and evolve.
