Noisy Sex: Australian Couple Charged Over Loud Lovemaking
A South Australian couple has been charged with violating the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) after neighbors repeatedly complained about their noisy sex life. According to the Herald Sun, Colin MacKenzie and Jessica Angel can’t keep their amorous activities from being heard by anyone within earshot of their home, prompting authorities to charge the randy couple with disturbing the peace.
Angel, who is allegedly the loudest of the two offenders, is more than a little stunned that the activities taking place in their bedroom have resulted in charges being filed against them.
“We exceeded the noise pollution to the point we were arrested and taken out of our own house and told we couldn’t have sex,” she explained.
Her boyfriend feels the same way. He, too, is a little perplexed about the police’s involvement in the situation.
“It is completely over the top. I have been fined for having sex in my own house.”
Since Angel is the noisiest, she was served with an emergency Environment Protection Order by local police. According to the Malaysia Chronicle, Angel was told to stop “emanating any and all environmental nuisance,” which reportedly included “screaming, loud moaning, swearing, and raised voices.” For sharing their sexual experiences with neighbors, the couple could face a fine of up to $4,000.
Police allegedly told Angel that they were investigating a domestic dispute, though the woman was quick to clear the air.
“We were just having sex,” she explained. “No way were we fighting. We were being intimate Sunday and into Sunday night.”
MacKenzie, meanwhile, is simply flabbergasted that one of his neighbors decided to call the police.
“It is bizarre,” he explained. “What are people doing, just sitting in their flat listening to me and then they say, ‘I don’t like the sound of that so I will ring up and complain?’ ”
“How can you live in a place where you can’t have sex?” he added.
