WWE Rumors: Prepare For The ‘WrestleMania 33’ Main Event That All Fans Feared Would Happen

It may be almost a full year away, but fans are already looking forward to WrestleMania 33 in Orlando in April of 2017. Some plans are already in place, but WWE isn’t going to let those ideas known just yet as they want to keep things a secret. Of course, plans this early are tentative and subject to change, and the current rumors are something that fans hope will be altered. As of now, WWE may end up going with John Cena vs. Roman Reigns at next year’s big event.

The world is preparing for Memorial Day which will see John Cena making his return to WWE and Monday Night Raw. He’s been out of action since having surgery in January, but he really hasn’t been a full-time talent since back in October.

As recently reported by the Inquisitr, there are rumors swirling that Cena is going to get a huge push upon his return, and he could very well win a title immediately. At first, some thought that he was going to go after Roman Reigns, but the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is now engaged in a feud with Seth Rollins.

That then pushed the rumored WWE Title match to SummerSlam as the main event for what is seen as the company’s second-biggest pay-per-view (PPV) of the year. Fans already are not too thrilled about that, but it seems as if that feud may be pushed back yet again.

According to Daily Wrestling News, WWE is actually planning on keeping John Cena and Roman Reigns far apart from one another. The distance between these two is going to stay rather great for quite a while, as there are much bigger plans in place for two wrestlers on the roster who get booed the most by the fans.

Very early plans for WrestleMania 33 have a match taking place between Roman Reigns and John Cena, and that could make for some trouble.

It is not known if this match will be for the WWE World Heavyweight Title or even in the main event spot, but it’s in the tentative works. Should a Roman Reigns vs. John Cena match fall into the main event, it would mark three straight years that Reigns was in the top overall match of WrestleMania.

WWE officials want to keep Cena away from Reigns, AJ Styles, and The Club upon his return this Monday. It is expected that Cena is going to feud with Rusev for a short amount of time and win the United States Title in rather quick fashion.

At this point, the WWE Live Events page has Cena facing off with Alberto Del Rio throughout the remainder of the summer. It looks like WWE is going to bring back the feud that started with Del Rio’s return match at Hell in a Cell last October and saw him take the U.S. Title off of Cena.

Reigns is set for matches against AJ Styles for the next month, but that could change now that WWE appears to have fully ended that feud.

One of the most hated matches of all time took place at WrestleMania XX when Brock Lesnar took on Bill Goldberg with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as the special guest referee. Both of the superstars were on their way out of WWE, and fans knew that so they booed the match right out of the building.

Unless Reigns or Cena turn heel before WrestleMania 33, things could get really ugly if WWE decides to go through with that match.

WrestleMania 33 is nowhere near set in stone, but it’s quite possible that WWE does have a match or two in the works. They very likely have ideas and some tentative plans that they would like to see become reality, but it is much too far away to know if they will. Unless a major change happens for Roman Reigns and/or John Cena, their match at WrestleMania 33 could be one of the most hated bouts of all time.
