Amber Riley Calls Out Fat-Shamers In Blistering Video

Amber Riley lashed out at fat-shamers in a blistering video she posted on Instagram.

The actress recently had some dental work done and displayed a bit more bravado than usual while under the influence of painkillers, People reports.

The 30-year-old took to Instagram to blast those chastising her for being overweight.

“You know, there are just some things that my sober mind keeps me from sharing. That ends tonight. I’ve got some things I need to get off of my chest,” Riley says in the video.

“Why does me being fat offend so many people? Is it because I’m confident, and I’m fly, and I’m sexy? Do my thighs, offend? Does my stomach, offend? Does my big juicy a**, offend? Why? Why!?

“Let my big a** live! I let y’all live! I love all colors, shapes and sizes. So, just so you know, when you come on here, and you call me fat, it’s not an insult, dummy. My a** is fat. And the fellas love it. And so do I. So eat it.”

Former co-star, Naya Rivera, supported Riley on Twitter.

“Get it giiiirrrrlll,” Rivera wrote.

Amber replied, “lol I love you! Called to make sure I knew what I was doing, such a mommy (emoji) good talk tho. See u soon.”

As anyone who’s been under the influence of painkillers before, you might have said a few things you wish you hadn’t. In this particular situation, Amber Riley’s sister made her take a pledge of silence following the feisty video message.

“I’m baaaaack lol afternoon everyone! What an adventure we went on last night I’m silent Susie today,” she tweeted. “My mouth is so sore and Ashley threatened my life if I didn’t shut up today sooooo I’m gonna be quiet. But because I want to, not because I’m scared or anything. I’m gonna go enjoy this shake! I hope you guys have an awesome day.”

A roster of celebrities has fired back at body-shamers for criticizing them on social media. A photo of an enjoyable day at the beach or a red carpet appearance may draw a sea of insults from people on Instagram or Twitter. Sadly, it takes one tiny hint of having a real body that sends trolls into a bashing frenzy. Some outfits might not be form-fitting enough, or an actress’ stomach might protrude more than usual in a gown that is quick to spark pregnancy rumors.

Observers are accustomed to high-resolution images of their favorite celebrities, too. A candid photo may send critics over the edge.

Take, for example, a photo of Melanie Griffith that was posted on Instagram last December. In a virtually unfiltered image, the actress taunted trolls with their mean-spirited comments.

“Here ya go. Unfiltered. I’m 58. And I’m in ‘Hawaii Five O’ playing Scott Caan’s Mom. Go ahead… Say some more mean things. Merry Christmas,” she wrote.

Being a red hot star isn’t easy if you’re not one of the “ideal” body types in Hollywood. They might have the fame and money, but they’re ripped apart for not being rail thin or young.
