Actor Tom Lenk Recreates Celebrity Red Carpet Looks On Instagram

Actor Tom Lenk, popular for his Buffy the Vampire Slayer role Andrew Wells, has a hilarious hobby of recreating red carpet fashion and showing them off on Instagram. No red carpet appearance is safe, as Lenk displays creative ways to copy a celebrity’s fashion with household items that range from pasta to garden hoses.

Lenk has his own social media hashtag called #LenkLewkForLess for followers to keep track of his celebrity recreated fashions. Lenk enjoys doing his own take of fashion articles that usually identifies a celebrity’s outfits and lists cheaper knock-offs for the public to buy.

Kristen Stewart’s Cannes Look

Lenk claims in the caption that it only took 20 minutes to come up with an outfit similar to one of Kristen Stewart’s appearance during this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The actor used mascara to color in the roots of his blonde wig that he already owned. Lenk used an old white T-shirt, along with a Polo shirt used as a skirt to recreate Stewart’s outfit. Lenk taped an Altoid can on his right forearm instead of using a fake tattoo to copy Stewart’s.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Met Gala Look

People might not look at Sarah Jessica Parker’s hair the same again after seeing Tom Lenk’s interpretation of Parker’s appearance. Apparently, Lenk used different dried pastas to recreate Parker’s dirty blonde, flowy locks. Lenk used a rice cake, blue Fruit Loops, dried blueberries, and a tortilla for his necklace. Lenk stated that he used crushed reduced fat Oreo cookies for his smoky eye makeup and used flour tortillas and vanilla wafer cookies for the jacket and top.

Solange Knowles’ Met Gala Dress

It probably didn’t take long for Lenk to think up ways to transform himself from Solange Knowles Met Gala’s yellow dress. Lenk appears to wrap himself with yellow tissue paper and threw on a black wig to complete the look.

Julianne Moore at 2016 Cannes Film Festival

Lenk definitely went creative when re-imagining his version of Julianne Moore’s Cannes gown. Lenk used a tight black skirt to cover most of his body. The actor ended up using a black garden hose to wrap around his body is a design similar to the sequinned lines on Moore’s outfit.

Mariah Carey at NBC Upfronts

Mariah Carey tripping out of one of her Louboutin heels didn’t go unnoticed by Tom Lenk. The actor recycled the skirt he used for Moore’s outfit and used it to make a mini-dress. Lenk cut up gold paper foil to use as the dress’ animal print stripes. Lenk opted not to wear actual fishnet hoses but instead used a black marker to draw the stockings’ criss-cross pattern on his legs.

Caitriona Balfe’s Cannes Look

Outlander actress Caitriona Balfe’s white outfit made a splash at Cannes. Lenk clearly had fun paying tribute to the look by using a trash bag, Swiffer wet and dry pads, and tissues for his own unique version.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Met Gala Look

Fashion mavens Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen usually favor the bohemian chic look when they walk the red carpet. Lenk decided to dress up as both twins by wrapping himself in oversized blankets and messy wigs to copy their 2016 Met Gala appearance.

Eliza Dushku and Tom Lenk for ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’

Tom Lenk also used his hobby to recreate various movie posters and scenes. Lenk teamed up with fellow Buffy alum Eliza Dushku to dress up as the characters from The Huntsman: Winter’s War, using material from a thrift store and kitchen utensils to create their gowns based on Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron’s characters in the film.

The two actors even had fun acting out a dramatic scene in the movie.
